Chapter 84

Marty's Wedding

Trench POV

The sound of small feet approaching my mahogany desk made me look up to watch my daughter skipping happily. Her white fur friend shadowing her every step. Both look like they tired themselves from that dog training camp in the city. Snowy better be doing good on his training because his expenses are four digits every month. Myles wanted her dog smart so daddy was obliged to make that happen.

"Snowy stay," Myles commanded at her dog; immediate respond came from the dog and he stayed slumping on the carpet. "Hello daddy! Mommy called yet?" she thrilled.

Right, my pregnant fiancée at the moment was with her girlfriends hanging out with the bride to be. Today is the bachelorette party for Marty. I didn't want for Sum to come but as always Marty had her own ways to persuade Sum to go with them.

"They are in for spa at the moment, munchkins. How's my baby, did you enjoy your time at the camp?"

"Yes daddy I saw a lot of dogs. There's the big ones and the tiny little cuties. The tiny ones were like bigger like your hands daddy. It was so adorable and the lady who was holding it says to me her puppy would never grow up." Uh-oh. I am sensing another request coming in her tiny mouth. Her eyes beaming in happiness tells me why.

"That's great sweetie," I downplayed it softly. Any moment now she will beg for another puppy.

"Yep," my daughter mumbled while she raided the mini fridge beside the table. She took out a container that I knew contains blueberry cheezy pie. "Daddy can you open it," she requested. I took the container from her hands and opened it for her. I stood up to get spoon and glass from my office built in kitchen. It's time I guess to taste what my mother in law baked for us today.

"Here's  the spoon, munchkins...ugh don't stuck your finger on the food,"

"But I put hand sani....tizer in my hands daddy, see," she took out a small bottle, "mommy says to always use it if I touch food," Myles smartly explained. However, it's still wrong to stick a finger on food no matter how you put sanitizer on your hands.

"Sweetie, that's unetiquette to-"

"What's etiquette?" she stuck her finger into her mouth to taste the pastry she just violated.

"It means proper way to act when you are surrounded by people,"

"Hmm....you're my daddy so it's okay," she insisted.

I smacked my hand against my forehead. "Munchkins, don't you think it's good practice even if I am only with you."

"Then why do you always licked mommy's lips to wipe something on it? That is not eteeequtte right?"

Kid had a good point even if I wanted to counter back at her retorts. "Just don't do that with other people, okay?"

"Grandma Marsha, Grandpa Shannon, Deedee and unca Charles do that when when they are um um baking pastries,"

"They just wanted to tatse it munchkins if what they are making is good." So that's where she got the sticking finger on food. "Don't do that okay."

"Fine daddy. You should not do too licking mommy's lips," she added.

Oh hell no! Summer's lips are heaven in mouth. I could kiss her all day if she want to or no four years old girl bugging us of food, movie or play.

But for argument sakes and Myles's innocence, I lied. "Sure thing munchkins."

She took the spoon I was offering to her only for me to realize how a huge mistake that was. The middle of the pie where all the creamy delicious blueberries and cheeze are now being scoop up. Blissful grin etched across my daughter's smug face while I was left sulking as I watch her devouring the most amazing part of the pastry.
