Chapter 57

"Something is not right here," Mandy came barging in my room with a sleepy Myles clutching around her neck.

"What's not right here, Deedee, is Myles okay?" I walked to them and take my daughter from Mandy. "Is munchkins okay?" the worry on my voice was evident.

"She's fine, I'm talking about my big sister skipping and whistling inside her room. She looks like on cloud nine right now," she commented.

I frowned at her to show I didn't know what she was talking about. Deep inside of me the reason of my lifted mood was what happened in his condo unit. I mean come on those ten sexy buns he has was like         a readily made aphrodisia. And that V shape....mmmm...it makes me want to...

"Sum your face is creeping me out," Mandy interrupted my naughty thoughts.

"Not to," I argued, trying to restore the normalcy of my emotions.

"You are looking into space with this face I'd seen in seniors after they watched Magic Mike XXL," she quoted.  I nearly tackle her right there if it weren't for my daughter snoring lightly on my neck.

"Night Mandy," I dismissed.

"Night Sum, don't let Magic Mike bugs you in your normal sleeping pattern, " she sings and wore that evil smile she developed over the years. I stuck my tongue at her like a five year old. "Very childish, you're more childish than Myles."

"You grow up too fast Mandy, try to slow down will you?" I teases.

"I'm planning to, don't want another Sum and Myles running around the house earlier than mom and dad thought,  they'll surely suffer Myocardial infarction," she thrilled.

"Smart butt cheeks, don't worry Charles will keep his eyes on you. Night!" I waved before closing the door on her rolling eyes. The medical terms she is using these days are making me scared. We in the family knows her dream of becoming a doctor someday. Dad actually bought her second hand books he saw in a garage sale one time. College books are expensive nowadays, and it's just lucky he got a good price to buy some. We know it is too early to think college but Mandy seemed to have I.Q higher than Charles and I. It won't be a surprise if she will be offer an scholarship this early to attend college. That would be good news for us. Getting a medical degree is too expensive. College alone is too expensive.

Two months before I found out I was pregnant with Myles, I was already saving money to enroll in a community college. Then she came along and college just flew out of my plan. My focus was to make sure I save enough money for her needs and future. I didn't buy new things for myself for the past years, for real. I put her needs first, always hers and I am content with that. A daughter's smile is priceless when you buy them gifts. Her happiness is enough for me.

And I can only guarantee that if I do what she's been asking ever since Marty stirred her curiosity.

"Don't worry Myles, I will tell the whole truth to your dad soon. Give me time to drop the bomb to him." It took sooner than I thought, but maybe there is reason why it came early. I hope it is a positive vibe. With all the unpleasant things inserting themselves in every unfortunate opportunity presented, I think I needed a good leverage too.

Next morning wasn't a morning I imagined last night. I thought it would be smoother than the last few days. But nope.

First of, mom is not feeling well to work today. I was dealt with the whole work in the shop for the entire day. I called the manager in my second job to tell him I can't come for work. Surprise surprise he just granted like he already suspected of my absence. On a positive note though, he isn't mad or anything. I wonder why.
