Chapter Thirty

The ending with you guys, didn’t quite landed into the friend zone rather in the war zone

(Trench POV)

I exhaled loudly that somehow my sister finally had the luck contacting one Welsh and it turned out to be Summer. I was still in my old apartment together with my sister and her fiancé. The weather was just terrible so I hadn’t had the chance storming back to my mother’s town and see Summer for myself. Then again, I think showing up by myself would be the biggest no no for a while, seeing that Charles was growling when he pick up his phone to talk to me. I tried begging him to listen but his anger made it clear that it wasn’t the time to take some sense out of him. Summer wouldn’t pick up the phone and turned her phone off when she had enough of me. I couldn’t blame them for this because I was a douche who made everything into a nightmare.

Tara eyed me not to say a word as she talks with her. This is the compromise we made when she finally agreed to help her stupid brother.  I am not allowed to speak to her because it will just end up for her to hang up.

“Tara?” she murmured uneasily. The phone was in loudspeaker so I can hear loud and clear.

“Yes, it’s me Sum” Tara answered.

“Er wha….what can I do for you?” she asked cautiously; her uneasiness really sting me. It was clear she doesn’t like to talk right now. I fidgeted on my seat, eyeing Tara desperately. She glared.

“Tre-” Tara tried to say but we all can hear a sucking sound coming from the speaker.  “My brother told me what happened, Sum,” she changed tactics. She’s quick analyzing someone even if they are on the other side of the phone.

“Everything” her voice was cracking. I put my hands on my facing, my patience was slipping away. This isn’t going to work.

“Yes, everything. Sum, I know what he did was beyond forgivable, believe me when I heard about his confession I wanted to beat the life out of him,” Tara stated and her voice too shook in anger. “Summer, please listen for a while to me, just give me few minutes of your time before you hang up,” she pleaded desperately because I was looking at her pleadingly.

I just needed for Summer to consider my explanation. She knew half the story and the other half was all I hoped for her to hear.

“Okay” Summer breathed; I know she was crying now. Another stab in my chest.

“What happened in Austin’s house is just half of it Sum”

“He showed it…he just laughed while they watched it…he told me from the first place he didn-” she sucked a deep breath.

I was going to reach for the phone but Tara snatched it away from the table and covered the speaker when I started shouting my explanations.

“You want her to take you in again or what?” Tara growled at me.

“I just needed to talk to her” I pleaded.

“Didn’t you listen? She doesn’t want to talk to you, even saying your name made her breakdown! What kind of an idiot are you? Time is all she needed when I’m finish talking to her you idiot!” she growled angrily.

Yeah rubbed it in my face Tara, I thought as I slumped back on my seat.

“I know Sum and I’m so sorry that he did that to you,” funny how no one wanted to say my name anymore, “but what you know is only half of the truth Sum.”

“What?”

“I know I know it’s unbelievable to believe it Sum, but once he showed it, he was going to delete it and never be bothered with the stupid game he is in. Believe me, he crashed the site they made even his cousins phone when you left him. Sum, he had no intention hurting you. He couldn’t do that he loves you so much.”
