Chapter Thirty Four

The final toll

“Get inside the car Mandy,” I told her in chirp tone. My hands were shaking not with fear but with anger. I couldn’t believe he still has the face to show when he did the most horrible thing to me. If it isn’t a crime to kill someone I would have wring his neck to death.

Slowly, I turned around to look at the person I despise right now. I envisioned a confident, nice dress and compose guy, but what I saw almost made me speechless. His whole appearance was like wreckage after a storm. His hair was really messy, under his eyes were dark shadows, his skin was pale and he looks thinner like he just recently recovered from unknown sickness.

Despite this distortion look on him, my anger still didn’t subside and he knew it. He was supporting a guilty look when I scanned his face again.

“I’m so-”

“Save it!” I hissed, surprising myself for the venom dripping in my words.

“Okay, okay I’ll give you time to-to cool d-down” he said, backing away from me, not that far but enough space for me not reach in and give him a second slap across his face. There’s this emotion boiling in me that convince me not to be affected by his pity-look; it might be a trick to sway my decisions and end up forgiving him.

“Sum!” Charles shouted and I whipped my head to see him walking –no more like charging ready to battle with someone, well that someone is the guy trying to talk some sense out of me. “You fucking douchebag you still have a face to show to my sister after what you have done to her!” he yelled furiously that caught people’s attention. They instantly watch the drama unfolding in front of their eyes, interest and anticipation in their faces.

“I didn’t mean it, Charles if you just let me explain my side of story!” Trench gritted his teeth, his knuckles white as it balled tighter than possible. And then I saw it, the rage forming slowly in his eyes. I’d seen that flare of emotion before and it’s really bad for Charles if both guys end up fighting.

“It’s fucking clearer than you think asshole! Both of you are done. My sister doesn’t love you anymore, she didn’t need you from her life, she dumped you you prick. You’re done that’s the end of it,” Charles snapped.

“It can be fix if she just-”

“YOU RUINED HER!” Charles exploded, “You’ve made enough damage in our family fuckhole we don’t need another stupidity from you. You stay away from my sister and the rest of my family!”

“CAN YOU JUST FUCKING LISTEN TO ME??!!!!” he growled angrily, his feet dragging him to stand near Charles who was balling his knuckles too, ready to throw a punch.

Charles sneered at him nastily. “You don’t deserve our attention Graysten, my sister deserves someone better than you, you only brought her humiliation and you gave her a deep wound that she will carry for the rest of her life, so do us all a favor and fuck off from our lives.”

Once the murderous glint in his eyes became pronounce, I was in between the men who were both squaring at each other. I can let them go from verbally battling each other, but further than that will lead to someone dropping on the floor and I won’t honestly allow it. They are already been fueled by their rebuttals and add Charles hatred on him because of what he had done to me, I had no doubt a hideous scene will happen if I won’t break them earlier while I have the chance.

“Let’s go Charles,” I told him, pushing him away from him.

“Yeah let’s go, there’s no point wasting our time here anymore,” he sneered; a movement from behind me tip me off that he was getting really fed up by Charles’s scorning. I turned around and face him. He stopped whatever he was about to do and I had a clear idea what, given that his right hand was raise in a way to punch someone out cold. He stared at me for a while before turning back and walked toward his car.
