Chapter 87
Mr. Crevestovik Senior
Trench POV
The sudden tension vibrating inside my still uneasy body when it comes to the sight of my father seemed to contaminate the atmosphere inside the crowded room of my fiancée. The Welsh had less tense reaction than I do. Must be mom doing when all of them arrived earlier in the hospital. Maybe they all had talked and cleared the issues partaining the past. But it doesn't mean it cured the Welsh's perception toward the said father. Shannon, I see him controling that grit forming in his lips. Charles's jaw was clench in a very threatening way as he pass by him. That display right there didn't escape Travis Crevestovik's quick judgmental eyes. Yet he didn't comment or do anything about it. It seems like he had been training himself lessening his aristocrat attitude.
"Mommy! Daddy! Mommy your tummy! Where are my baby brothers? There're gone," Myles's was at the moment lifting the sheet away from her mom's tummy, oblivious to the tension circulating inside the room. She started crying when she discovered the bulge was already gone. Tears cascaded her eyes and she keeps hiccuping. I knew she was fond looking at her mommy's baby bumps; she loves touching and hugging it.
"Hey hey munchkins, it's okay. They're out of mommy now and...and the twins are in another room. The doctors needed to watch them for a while okay and then they will give them back to us," Summer rushed to explain to our distraught little girl. She wiped off Myles's tears and wiped off her nose. "Don't cry sweetie. Don't you love to see them out of mommy? Once they grow up you and the boys can play now." Myles smiled a bit at her mommy's reassurance.
"We will see them later munchkins don't worry okay?" Mandy butted in.
"Okay," she mumbled.
"See, I told you guys to cut off the surprise for my niece here but you all wanted to surprise her, predicting she will be happy when she sees her mommy. See how it backfired badly. You made her cry," Tara tsked at the people. Rupert was just beside her busily wiping the drool from little Trey's pacifier.
"No one foresee this, let it go Tara," mom told her off. She came forward to exchange greetings with her daughter in law. Her arms surrounded Myles's tiny body and places ticklish kisses on her neck. Finally, my daughter release sweet snickers. "How are you dear? You gave us a scare when Gorge called us to inform the situation. He told us everything."
"I'll be fine...the only concern in my mind right now is the babies' health,"
"We are all praying for their recovery,"
"They will be fine, right?" Myles piped up, "I know they will....the twins love me and they whispered to me always that they love me. I put my ear on mommy's tummy and they move like...like they know big sister is there waiting for them," she chatted.
We all chuckled at the blabbering kid.
This is what we needed, optimism. I'll take any form of it. If it's from my baby girl, the result will be hundred percent times more comforting.
"Yes, sweetie they will be fine and they love you," mom assured her.
I stared at my father who was still standing there watching my daughter chattering excitedly about the twins. His face looks peaceful, no bitterness mask his face. Mom did really beat that hell bend aristocrat attitude I got used to. The divorce for sure is the culprit that shook his whole being, because I know dad couldn't function well if mom isn't with him. Clingy old man.
"We need to talk," father finally spoke. Everyone stopped talking at once, all eyes, except Myles, stared at me then dad, back and forth.
I vacated my spot beside Sum, "I'll be right back," I whispered to her.
