"Wow Dad, how high up are we?" Ron asked excitedly as we walked up the stairs.
I decided I was over my little heart break. It has been two hours since my talk with Cedric and I could finally convince myself that putting too much feelings into this was useless. I had never felt anything but brotherly love for Cedric for as long as I could remember and just because he has gotten really hot and almost kissed me in a moment of weakness doesn't mean I should care if he rejected me...right ?
I shook my head as the same thoughts kept swarming it, trying to avoid looking at the exact person who was causing my mind to wander. I should just stick to Fred and George. No one could spend 5 minutes with them and not get into a good mood, especially on a day like this where everyone and everything seemed to be buzzing with excitement.
As I tried to make my way to the twins I collided with Harry's side though and furrowed my brows. I had been so deep in thought that I hadn't even noticed that we had stopped climbing the stairs. I followed Harry's gaze and saw none other than Lucius Malfoy looking up at us, the arrogance clear in his eyes.
"We're at the VIP lounge, on invitation of the minister himself," a nasaly voice proclaimed. Draco Malfoy appeared next to his father. He was wearing a black suit and looked way taller than I remembered him to be. He had grown into his features and his hair wasn't as slicked back as usual, making him almost seem...approachable?
"Oh, is that you, Lia?" Lucius suddenly asked and I tore my gaze from Draco to look at the man.
"It is," I said curtly. I didn't like the man and from the looks of everyone else around me he had probably insulted them before I had gotten my head back in the game.
"What are you doing here with such...underwhelming company? Wouldn't you prefer joining me and my family at the VIP section?" he asked as he glared at Arthur Weasley.
Lucius Malfoy had always been obsessed with my family. Our heritage went back way further than his, meaning our blood was purer and our wealth richer. He admired us at much as he was jealousy us and I knew right now was the right moment to use that to my advantage,
I felt Ron next to me shuffle slightly but before he could do anything I took his arm with my hand, squeezing it to tell him to shut it.
"Well thank you for the kind offer, Mr. Malfoy," I said with a fake smile. Lucius and Draco smiled at me, obviously expecting me to follow them.
"But if I had wanted to sit in the VIP section I would have just bought tickets for it myself,"
I pursed my lips and cocked my head to the side,
"Or I would have just bought the entire VIP section," I said as if I was in thought before laughing.
Lucius' smile fell off his face for a second but then he composed himself again.
"Very well. Greet your father for me next time you see him," He pressed through his tightly shut lips before walking off.
Draco took a long look at me, expression unreadable, before he followed his father.I smiled triumphantly and looked to my side to see the Weasleys smile at me. Ron even ruffled my hair before we all made our way up to our seats.
___________"Have I ever told you I'm scared of heights?" I shouted over the noise of the crowd as I clutched onto the railing, doing my best not to look down. We were really high up. I stood between Johnny and Cedric and though I would deny it later on I was practically clinging onto my brother by how close I was standing next to him,
"Don't be a chicken!" Johnny just said before chanting "KRUM KRUM KRUM" from the top of his lungs like the rest of the stadium.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I could do this.
I opened them again and watched how the Seeker dove to chase the golden snitch, forcing my eyes to look down. I couldn't do this.
When I closed my eyes again I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist and I snapped them open to look at the person to my right, Cedric.
"Don't be scared. It's okay, I got you," He said into my ear, practically shouting so I'd hear him over the noise. I couldn't think of anything but how close he was so I just nodded, looking up to him with big eyes. He, as always, just smiled. He returned his attention back to the game and I stared at him for a couple of seconds before doing the same.
Brotherly affection, that's all.
I just wish my stupid heart could tell the difference because right now it was doing flips that it shouldn't be doing.
