Draco Pov
Some years later.
''Dr. Malfoy,''
I turned around, raising my eyebrow at the nurse walking towards me.
''Yeah?'' I asked, looking up from the chart I had been reading. Bad case of dragon pox.
''Harry Potter just visited!'' she said excitedly. I rolled my eyes.
''Did he bring in another bone fracture? He should seriously learn another curse than Expelliarmus as an Auror. It just sends the people into walls and then they end up here with fractures,'' I groaned. The nurse shook her head,
''No, he just gave me a letter...for you,'' she said, handing me a thick envelope.
''Oh...okay,'' I said, taking the letter and putting it into the pocket of my coat.
Only later that day when I got off I opened it again, settling into an armchair with a firewhiskey in my hand.
Dear Draco,
since it's not your station and you probably do not follow the gossip column of Rita Skeeter I do not expect you to know that my daughter has just been born. She's a beautiful baby girl (I know you don't care) and we have named her Lily, after my mother, for her first name and Li, for her middle name.
I know it has been years and I fully respect the decisions you've made after the war but...I think it's time, buddy. You'll find it in the envelope and I truly think you should finally bring yourself to look at it.
I hope my daughter can grow up to be as strong as the two women she was named after. I also hope that you'll find peace with this because even if you have claimed that you did, well, let's just say your acting skills have seen better days.
You're as usual invited to dinner whenever you want, although I already know you don't want to and even if you did it would probably be awkward. But still.
Best Regards,
Harry Potter.
P.S. for real, you should look at it.
I clenched my jaw, opening the envelope and pulling out the object I've been ignoring for years now. In it was a small vial with a blood stained tear floating in it.
I turned it in my hand before sighing,
''Oh fuck it,'' I said before drowning the last bit of my firewhisky and got up, walking over to the library in my apartment.
A library full of books was a good place to keep a oblivium. Usually I used it to study medical memories but well..today I would be going down a road I had kept out for a long time.
I opened the vile and let it float into the water before I sank my head down.
I fell into the memory and found myself standing in the middle of fields. Bright laughter could be heard and I braced myself for who I was about to see. Lia, maybe 5 years old or so, ran past me as fast as she could, smiling brightly. Behind her followed two boys, undoubtedly her brother and Cedric Diggory. The scene changed but the fields stayed. She was a little older now, cowering in the grass with both her hands clasped above her ears.
''READY? ONE..TWO...THREE!''
Lia laughed in surprise as the Weasley twins, maybe 10 years back then, released small firecrackers. Childrens toys they had probably added their own touch to. It was pretty.
