I looked up from the book I was reading when I felt the balance of the sofa I was sitting on shift. I looked to my right and saw Draco Malfoy next to me, looking at me expantently.
''I have decided to talk to you again, Kim,'' he declared before taking a bite out of a green apple.
I scoffed at him before going back to reading my book, ignoring his presence. Draco pulled it out of my hand and I gasped at his rudeness. He turned the book around to read it's title and then handed it back to me.
''The second sister is a bitch but she dies in chapter 56,'' he declared. I clapped my book shut and hit him with it as I glared at him.
He smirked,
''You weren't at that chapter yet, were you?'' he asked, clearly amused. I huffed and stood up from the sofa.
''Just because you're talking to me again doesn't mean I have to talk to you. Bye.'' I declared before walking off.
After that odd interaction Draco Malfoy tried his hardest to get me to talk to him. He'd creep up on me whenever I was alone (you would think he'd have forgotten my shedudle while he was ignoring me), correct me if I said something wrong, tease me in the hallways and just generally get on my nerves. About two weeks into the whole charade I caved.
''I know you're here,'' I sighed, letting my quill fall onto my parchment. Draco emerged behind the bookshelf with a smirk and finally sat across from me. The library was fairly empty and quiet today, only a few students scattered around.
''What do you want? I'll give you anything if you stop following me around like a little puppy,'' I whined. He smirked and raised his eyebrows suggestively.
''Anything?'' he asked. I scrunched my nose up at the suggestion before rolling my eyes at him.
''I want us to talk again,'' Draco finally admitted after a while. I sat back in my chair and crossed my arms in front of my chest, raising an eyebrow at him.
''Pansy boring you to death? If she is not busy with trying to get any kind of reaction out of me, that is,'' I asked.
The more Draco had been following me the more Pansy started to hate me. Even though Draco was rather secretive about it and no one else noted (not even Harry who was always on the lookout for his enemy) this little bitch seemed to have caught on. She pulled nothing I couldn't counter - mean old highschool tricks. If she was slipping nasty notes under my door, trying to embarass me in class by answering before I could, try to jinx me whenever she saw me - it was all rather obvious and boring.
Draco sighed,
''She's jealous even though there is nothing to be jealous about,'' he said. For some reason I didn't like that answer and when he saw the slight change in my expression he added,
''Since I don't like her,''
I didn't want to think about why that made me feel better.
''What was that Howler about?'' Draco finally asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
''Family business. My grandmother is coming for the third task,'' I explained, leaving out as many details as possible.
''Can't wait until this stupid tournament is finally over,'' Draco groaned. I was glad that he didn't ask any more questions and smiled at his distaste.
''You just don't like that all the attention is on Harry, don't you?'' I asked. The corners of his mouth actually turned down and I laughed for which I got hushed by some passing students.
''Him and Diggory. Don't you get annoyed that literally every girl in this castle swoons after him?''
I shrugged again,
''It's not like the boys in this castle turn an blind eye to me either. We get jealous sometimes, yes, but then we just make out,'' I said, enjoying the way Draco's nostrils flared up. Teasing him would always be fun.
''You're disgusting,'' he said and I smiled even wider.
''If you don't like Pansy just get with one of the french girls to make out with you. I think you could use it. May loosen you up a tad,'' I suggested with a shrug. Draco seemed scandalized at that suggestion, at least that's what I got from the way he gaped at me with piercing eyes.
''Merlin, it was just a joke...'' I mumbled under my breath.
''It's not like I don't get snogged. They just seem to forget about it,'' Draco hissed and his statement confused the shit out of me.
''Excuse me?'' I asked and as he seemed to realize what he had just said he shook his head aggressively.
''Nothing. Forget about it,'' he said. I squinted my eyes at him, hoping he'd follow up with an explanation. When he didn't I sighed and scoffed,
''Maybe you just suck at it and that's why they forget,'' I laughed. Draco glared at me,
''I forgot that you were a raging bitch,'' he said.
I smiled sweetly,
''Naw, I missed your compliments,''We both laughed at that and it was strange just how comfortable I felt at that moment.
