The funeral was one of the most horrible things I've had to endure. I tried to tune Dumbledore's words out as much as possible. I couldn't take people talking about Cedric in the past tense.
My grandmother had held my left hand and Johnny my right and I think that in that moment I realized the importance of family. My grandmother and father had always rambled on about that but I had never paid attention to it. Now I was aware.
A war would be coming and I'd have to stand by their side. I couldn't lose another member of my family. Never again.
My grandmother decided to give us some time to pack up and sort everything out while she'd have some tea. Being back in my room was as unpleasant as everything else today. The memories of Cedric I had in here hit me like a truck the second I entered and I had to ball my hand into a fist. I did my best to breathe and control myself but I could still hear the rattling of the furtinitute. I slowly saw ice covering the room and I laughed at the irony.
"Guess my heart is an open book, huh?" I said to myself.
I moved my hand through the air and my trunk clapped open, my possessions retreating to it.
When I had collected everything I needed I conjured my trunk to carry itself and closed the door to a frozen room.
I met Daphne on my way out and we exchanged brief hugs before I announced that I wouldn't be returning. Daphne seemed saddened but she didn't disagree or make me try to stay which I appreciated.
"Don't let them bully you," I whispered to her while hugging her one last time.
She laughed and patted my back,
"Don't worry. I know so many curses now thanks to you," she said.
I waved her goodbye before finally walking into the common room.
Pansy Parkinson and her gang of mindless Slytherin girls sat near the fireplace and sneered at me as usual.
"Leaving so soon, Kim? The semester doesn't end for another two weeks," she asked with a snarl.
I walked past her, ignoring her. I spotted Draco and his two followers on a sofa and a sudden anger flared up inside of me though I could not pinpoint it.
"ARE YOU LEAVING AGAIN, KIM?" Pansy called through the entire common room. I sighed and turned around.
"Yes. I can't take your ugly face anymore so I've decided to leave and not come back. You should really do something about that before the entire school leaves," I hissed.
Pansy gasped in shock and she stood up, pointing her wand at me.
"Don't think just because your little boyfriend is dead I won't curse you! Serves you right to have to bury him!" she yelled.
How dare she talk about Cedric like that? My nostrils flared up and I felt my trunk next to me fall to the ground with a 'humpf' as I took a couple of steps forward.
"You know what? Let's go!" I said, my hands coming up to take my earrings out.
Pansy shot a curse towards me and I deflected it with a flick of my hand. It crashed into the nearest wall and a painting set on fire but I ignored it.
Pansy on the other hand seemed scared now and before she could fire another one I had reached her and punched her square in the face. The girls around us shot up screaming while I grabbed Pansy's hair and pulled on it, making her shriek.
I kicked her and she began crying and before I could hit her again an arm was placed around my middle and I was taken away.
"IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOUR UGLY TOAD FACE INSTEAD OF HIM YOU PATHETIC SKANK!" I called out, kicking for her while I was being taken away.
