I was furious.
"I WILL kill her!" I huffed as I put the daily prophet down.
"It's not that bad," Daphne next to me tried weakly.
I looked around the great hall and saw multiple people staring at me in shock.
"All of them read it and believe it," I whined before putting my forehead on the table, my hair almost falling into pudding if I hadn't been wearing a ponytail.
"Well, you did go to the ball together..." Daphne began.
"AS FRIENDS ! WE'RE FRIENDS!" I cried out before snapping my head up. Harry just walked into the great hall and I pointed at him,
"POTTER TELL THEM WE'RE JUST FRIENDS!" I called out, gaining the attention of probably every student. Harry, still not used to being in the spotlight, halted and looked at me in shock,
"What?" he asked.
I held the prophet up where the front page was a picture of me and Harry dancing at the ball.
"That dumb whore Rita Skeeter-"
"MS KIM! 5 points off Slytherin!"
"Oops, sorry Professor McGonagall. Anyways, she wrote that we're dating!" I whined.
Harry frowned and walked up to my table, standing behind me and skimming the article over my shoulder.
"Don't worry about it," he just said with a shrug.
"How could I not worry about it?" I cried. Harry reached over me to grab an apple from my plate.
"Next week we'll probably break up anyways. I'm going to cheat on you with Hermione or something. She always makes up stuff like that," he exclaimed before biting into the apple.
A smile tugged at the corners of my lips,
"Or maybe I am going to cheat on you with Hermione," I joked. Harry laughed and said goodbye before walking to the Gryffindor table.
After that the stares didn't stop. Obviously no one believed me when I YELLED that we were just friends. I sighed,
"This is what happens when you cancel exams every year. The students get dumb and believe anything the news tell them!" I ranted to Daphne as we made our way out of the great hall. Just as we were about to take the steps my wrist was grabbed and I was roughly pulled away.
Before I could even comprehend where I was going or who I was going with I was already YEETED against a wall and I groaned.
Then I saw a furious Draco Malfoy standing in front of me.
"What the fuck?" I asked while stretching out my back.
"Is it true?" was all he asked and I glared up at him.
"You didn't have to throw me against the wall, Malfoy. What happened to a tap on the shoulder and saying excuse me? Aren't you British supposed to be polite?"
Draco huffed,
"You're British too,"
I made a grimace,
"Only half. Ugh, this really hurts!" I complained. Draco rolled his eyes before grabbing my shoulder and tugging on it to turn me around. Then he put his wand between my shoulder blades and before I could protest he whispered something under his breath and I immediately felt relaxed.
"I didn't know you could do that," I said, impressed, as I turned around.
Draco put his wand back in his pocket and scowled,
"Not the point. So, you and Potter?" he hissed and I widened my eyes,
"Did you not hear me scream through the entire hall that we're just friends?" I asked in disbelief.
"Potter didn't agree," he said.
"Oh my god," I whined, letting my hands fly to my face.
"So?" Draco continued and I groaned.
"It has never been and it will never be any of your business who I date but if you really must know then no. Me and Harry went as friends because the people we wanted to go with went with each other!"
Draco seemed to dislike that answer just as much as any other.
"Chang and Diggory?" he asked before scoffing
I bit the insides of my cheeks and looked down to my feet.
"You're pathetic," he eventually said, making me look up at him.
"You should get over Diggory. He certainly seems to be over you," Draco spoke before walking off, leaving me alone in the hallway.
I would lie if I said that hadn't hurt.
