''I'm proud of you,''
I smiled before hugging Harry.
''Yeah, thanks...'' he said and I scoffed.
''Stop being so nervous! You went through the last two just fine!'' I said, punching his shoulder encouringely.
''Listen to her, Harry!'' Ron agreed with me. Hermione nodded before squeezing Harry's arm.
The last match would be held in the quidditch arena that had been turned into a maze. As close friends we were allowed to see Harry in the changing rooms before he'd been sent off. Johnny and I had already visited Cedric and left him when his family arrived and I had joined the Weasley family on their way to Harry.
''But this is the final!'' he whined. I rolled my eyes.
''Relax, Harry,'' George said.
''Yes, please do. We bet good money on you,'' Fred continued. Mrs. Weasley hit his arm and he scowled.
''If you survived that nasty Dragon you'll survive everything, hm?'' I said while taking his face in my hands, squishing his cheeks.
''Yo, sis,''
I turned to see Johnny coming and I let go of Harry's face. Johnny greeted Harry with a smile and a thumbs up (such a guy thing) before he turned to me.
''Dad just arrived with Grandma,'' he explained.
''Oh my, the Miss Kim is here?'' Mr. Weasley asked and I sighed.
''Yes, she is,'' I huffed.
I turned to Harry one last time and kissed his cheeks, wishing him good luck. He blushed and I laughed at him before following Johnny out.
My grandmother was a legend. In China her name would only be said in a hushed whisper (although not in the creepy way they wouldn't say Voldemorts name here). In Britain my father was a big shot due to his position in the ministry and his connection to my internationally famous grandmother only made my family more respected. When we entered the arena I could see her sitting with all the important people from the ministry, the Malfoys included, but no one but my father dared to be closer to her than a few feet. The picture was almost comical, as if she repelled them from the way most seating spaces next to her were empty.
She eyed me as we got closer and I started sweating, making sure my posture was as straight as possible. God, I hope she wouldn't criticize my looks. I had spent all morning trying to look as not 'promiscuous and scandalous' as possible.
''I'd prefer the dragons from the first task right now,'' I muttered to Johnny and he laughed. He put his hand on my lower back and pushed me forward. I was glad for the action as I was sure I wouldn't make it far on my own.
We finally reached them and climbed up the stairs to her. She said nothing as we bowed to her (a full 90 degrees because I was scared shitless of her right now). When we came back up again we shortly greeted my father who sensed the tense air and gave me a pitiful gaze.
''I don't like your school,'' My grandmother finally said with her thick accent. I dared to laugh at that. She scrunched up her nose as she turned around to face the castle.
''Don't tell Albus but it's tacky,'' she said.
''You just want me back with you, Nǎinai'' I said. She turned around and hit my leg with her golden walking cane, making me whine,
''Yes even if you have been very bad!'' she said.
''Nǎinai, please forgive me,'' I complained as I went to my knees, pouting at her with big eyes. My grandmother had basically raised me and even if she was the strictest woman on earth I knew she wouldn't stay mad at me for long if I did this.
She looked at me for a long minute and sighed,
''You are too young for boys!'' she declared. I sighed and turned my puppy eye gaze to my brother who rolled his eyes before going on his knees too.
''Come on, grandma. It's not like you hadn't had your fun in your youth, eh?'' he said. Internally I face palmed. She poked his head with her walking cane and I suppressed a laugh at his shocked yelp. My father wasn't so successful with that and he burst out laughing, causing my grandmother to glare at him.
''You need to be more strict with them, Eugene!'' she exclaimed. He shrunk under her gaze.
''The boy is really nice though...I know him...family friend...'' he mumbled under his breath. My grandmother sighed before turning her gaze back to me. She grabbed my chin between her fingers and turned my head from one side to another. Then she let go of me and sighed.
''With such pretty face I should have expected something like this. Fine, I am not angry anymore. Staying angry at family is never a good thing,'' she said, making me smile.
''I still need to approve of him though!'' she declared sternly and my smile died.
''Please, Nǎinai, not now. After the task, okay? He is really nervous right now and everything,'' I asked as I placed my palms against each other in a praying pose. She looked at me for a long time, her glare making me gulp.
''Fine,'' she spoke.
''Get up now and sit. Children of mine don't cower,'' she said, pointing her cane towards the empty seats next to her. My brother and I immediately shot up and sat next to her.
''I hope you are aware of the privilege you get for being the baby of the family,'' my brother hissed in my ear.
''I can't help if I'm cute,'' I whispered back before shrugging. Johnny scoffed and rolled his eyes.
''Unbelievable. When I was 10 she made me get rid of my Nimbus deluxe because she didn't want me flying into one of her precious bonsai trees but you get to keep your white ass boyfriend,'' he said. I put my hand on his thigh and dug my sharp nails into his flesh, causing him to hiss in pain.
''I hate you,'' he whined.
''Students! Guests! Family!'' the voice of Albus Dubledore spoke up. The Champions entered the field and my grandmother nudged me.
''The tall blond one?'' she asked, pointing her cane at Cedric. I stiffened and nodded. She glared at him and in that second he looked at her, his previous smile fading. I looked between the two frightfully. Cedric awkwardly bowed his head at her before helplessly looking at me.
'I am so sorry,' I mouthed at him. My grandmother turned to me and curtly said,
''At least he's handsome,''
Which made me smile. I turned to Cedric and gave him a thumbs up and he smiled brightly again. God I loved this dork so much.
Dumbldore announced the rules of the final task and eventually Cedric and Harry were led up to the entrance. Cedric turned around to look at his father and then at me and Johnny. We both cheered for him with bright smiles and he returned it with one of his own.
Then he and Harry went into the maze.
