By the time Krum was pulled out of the maze I started to get worried. He was pale and looked nothing like himself and Fleur was already being coddled by her schoolmates.
''It's going to be alright, Child. Albus wouldn't let anything happen to children,''
I bit my tongue not to tell my grandmother about the whole 'werewolf - escaped prisoner' situation from last year and just turned to look back to the maze.
After what felt like an eternity something suddenly happened, the marching band now taking up the music again. It was a blur what happened down there, too many people trying to see who the returning champion was.
Then Fleur Delacoure's scream broke through the commotion and I shot up in panic.
''Stay!'' my grandmother ordered but I was already on my feet, running. I had a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach.
People stood up from their seats and I pushed myself between them, running towards the arena. I finally entered it and I had to run through multiple people who tried to hold me back.
Finally I reached the middle.
The first thing I registered were golden locks on the ground and I halted. My gaze fell upon Harry's back. He was crouched over, clutching onto Cedrics lying body. Cedric's lying still body.
''What's going on?'' I asked, frightened.
''Harry!'' I called out, moving forward and grabbing his shoulder. He wouldn't move and now I could hear his cries as he clung onto Cedric. A dreadful fear overcame me and I fell to my knees next to him.
Cedric's eyes were wide open but he wasn't moving. He wasn't looking at me.
''Why isn't he breathing? Cedric? Cedric, why aren't you breathing?'' I asked in panic as tears began to make their way out of my eyes. My shaking hand came forward to his neck. I felt no pulse.
This was wrong. So terribly wrong. It shouldn't be happening. Not to him.
''No, don't do this to me,'' I cried.
''Cedric!'' I called out, hoping he'd wake up. He didn't.
This couldn't be happening. My world couldn't just shatter like that.
''No, no, not you. No!'' I cried even harder, clutching onto his shoulder.
Why wouldn't he wake up? Why was he doing this? It can't be...He can't....
''Wake up!'' I called. Someone grabbed my shoulder and pulled on it but I resisted, grabbing a fist full of Cedric's shirt.
''You promised!'' I called out before sobbing.
A strong force pulled me away from it from my middle and I tried to resist with all my might but it didn't work. I was put down on the grass and engulfed in a hug. From the smell of cologne I could tell that it was my brother.
''He isn't! He can't be!'' I cried into his shirt. Johnny's hand came to his head and he held me as close as possible.
''Don't look,'' he said and I began to cry even harder. Then the cries of Amus Diggory filled the field and it finally hit me.
Cedric Diggory, my first and what I had always hoped for last love, was dead.
''Kids,'' I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up to see my grandmother and my face twisted in pain.
''Nǎinai,'' I said in a broken tone.
My grandmother reached her arm out, her gaze full of sorrow as she looked at us.
''Take my hand, my children,'' she said in the gentlest tone I've ever heard her say.
We did as we were told and then we apparated away.
When we appeared again I didn't even take the time to register where we were, I just sunk to the ground and began sobbing uncontrollably. My brother kept his arms around me and I could feel him crying too. I held him as close as he held me.
