 Everybody went to there class and Dimitri and he likes to have been bothering us with questions so we finally told them everything that we knew. After the long discussion, they still had a few questions. "So that's it no more karate" "I guess so," Miguel said playing with a pencil. "It's probably for the best it was starting to boost your confidence" "and why is that a bad thing, "I said irritated. "I'm just saying we're losers get picked on this isn't some fairytale where we just get all the girls I have a nice happy life" he replied. "But isn't confidence a good thing" "no one is confidence ever got somebody besides a black eye and their backpack thrown in the trash," he said? "Well I- I thought it was kinda cool how you stood up to Kyler," Eli said. "Are you insane let me ask you what is the best superpower anyone can have" "flight" Miguel and I both said? "No invisibility a distant second would be super speed to run away fast," he said. "Runaway from who, "a voice said snapping us out of our conversation. I'd looked up to see that you were Kyler and I got pissed again. I hopped out of my seat to get him but as soon as I din I felt something hard hit the back of my head and my vision started going black.
 

I woke up and it looked like was in the nurses I grabbed the clock and it said 2:56 It was almost time to go home. I didn't even tell the nurse I left I just jumped up the bed grab my stuff and left. I got outside and saw Miguel about to go on the bus. "Hey man, what happened," I asked while holding my head. "well as you know Kyler and his goons came in but then there were these other guys that hit you in the back of the head, what was it Skylar" he guessed "Tyler" I growled. We were about to walk to the bus when we heard our names being. We look down the car line to see your mom waving to us. We walked over an hour reluctantly got into the car. "Surprise I changed my shift so we can go to the movies if you guys want," she said. "You are just trying to keep us from karate," Miguel said. "You guys can put the M&M's in the popcorn," she said. "I just want to go home." I said "Yeah me too," Miguel said backing us up. Her face went from Happy to disappoint as she started the car.

When we got home and they're both hopped out the car and went to our room. It was quiet we hardly said a word. I didn't know what to do with myself I guess it was true what they say never really know how much you got until you lose it. "This sucks," I said. "Yeah tell me about it" Miguel. "And I owe you an apology," I said. "an apology, for what" he looked at me with a confused look. "I'll let you down again I wasn't there to protect any of them I'm guessing you guys probably have to drag me to the nurse's office," I said sitting on my bed. "It's all right we didn't even get hurt well except for Dimitri's backpack," he said. We both started laughing until our stomachs hurt. When we paused we heard a knocking on the front door. I and Miguel peeked out of our rooms to see who it was. When mom opened the door it was none other than Sensei Lawrence.

"Please don't close the door," he said and I'm begging tone. "Look I know I wasn't there for them when it mattered. And I let them down and I guess I let you down too but" there was a long pause before he swallowed the lump in his throat and continued. "But those kids they're the only ones in the world who hasn't given up on me," he said. "I know that I messed up big-time but if you let them come back I won't fail them again I promise," he said. Mom didn't say a word after he finished his statement which only then he got the idea." all right just think about it just think about it" he said before walking to his apartment. Mom didn't close the door in turned around to see if Grandma was waiting for her. me gusta el  (I like him) she said. We walked back into the room and sat on our beds "you know if she lets us go back he's never going to admit that he did that right" I said. "Yeah you're probably right," he said. We looked at each other and started laughing all over again.

I pulled out my phone and went into my calls. I dialed her number and it rang 12 times and she didn't answer. So I was forced to leave their message. "Hey, it's Carlos I know you're probably mad at me. And I totally deserve it but when you get the chance I like to explain alright bye" I said hanging up the phone.

The next day we walked into the dojo to see some of the stuff had been removed. We were looking around the room until we heard Sensei's voice. "What are you two doing back here," he asked. "Our mom said we can come back to karate," I said smiling. "What really," he asked playing clueless. "I mean if we still have the dojo"Miguel said taking a step forward. He started walking towards us and stopped in front of us. "We do for now but I want to make sure are you two ready to take it to the next level," he said. "Yes Sensei," we said simultaneously. "Now you got your ass kicked because you weren't playing defense," he said circling this. "so I'm going to teach you the best defense you can have," he said walking in front of us. He then proceeded to do it is karate stance before saying. "The best defense is a great offense," he said
