It was now mid autumn, and my eyes traveled around enticingly at the scenery before me. Puffy clouds inhabited the clear blue sky. Orange and brown leaves kept falling onto the soft grass in the school courtyard, as some twirled around my standing figure.
I indulged in the sweet smell of pumpkin spice and what seemed like salted caramel, and let my eyes shut down for a little as I Ieaned back on the rusty gates just outside the school building.

As I focused on the gentle wind, and the sound of the dried leaves being crushed by the footsteps of many, I felt an arm swing over my shoulder abruptly. My eyes immediately opened and shifted over only to meet a pair of dark brown eyes staring at me warmly.

"Good morning! Did you wait long?" Felix asked with an affable smile laced on his lips.

What in the world was he doing?

"Oh, I wasn't waiting for you," I said in a low tone, dropping my arms that were crossed over my chest. I watched as his smile slowly faded after my last comment.

"Ah right, you were waiting for Ivy, huh? Well, get used to waiting for me too because I'll be sticking around." He said so brightly with his lips curving upwards, this time his teeth being shown.

"Uh, okay? But before any of that, why is your arm still around me? Why is it around me at all?" I asked, looking over at how his arm still remained around my shoulder.

"Do friends not greet each other this way?" He answered back in confusion, as his head tilted sideways.

"Yeah, no they don't. Unless they're really close I guess." I was starting to feel uncomfortable with the way he's suddenly moved closer in the path to become my friend.

"Well then. It's a start for us to becoming close friends! Besides, I'm very touchy."

"And I'm not, so can you please get your arm off my shoulder. It's making me uncomfortable."

Felix had been staring at me for quite some time, and then the notion came to me and I had realized my ears turned bright red. He chuckled and took his arm off.

"Wait, it's not what it looks like. Just sta-"

"I see you two met up already, and early at that," Ivy's loud, yet charismatic voice trailed in as she eyed us both smugly.

"Took you long enough to get here," I said, not realizing it turned out to be more of a growl. It probably offended Felix, but it's not like I cared. It'd be better if he noticed and got the hint to just stay away.

Author's POV

"Wow, she really hates me," Felix's voice wandered off.

"It's not that she hates you, it's uh.." Felix looked Ivy's way, only hurt was present in his eyes as the one person he had great determination to be friends with turned him down every single time.
