Your POV

The girl with long dark brown hair stood up. "Soda! We talked about this. No bringing home broads from the beach."

I'm assuming this is the Lexi girl Pony mentioned. "Oh... don't worry. I'm not- I just-" I was at a loss for words.

"She's an old friend. Don't worry." Soda finished for me.

I already wanted to go home.

"Hi. I'm Emma." A girl said standing up. I think she was Darry's wife. That's so weird to even imagine that Darry was married.

"Hi. I'm [Y/N]."

"Wait, [Y/N] [Y/L/N]?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

"You definitely do not look like how you were described."

"Do I wanna know?" I asked skeptically.

"Probably not." The last girl said standing up. "I'm Hayley."

"Hi." I said nervously.

Everyone got situated into Darry's home as if it was there own. I didn't really know what to do. I stood in the corner awkwardly.

"You good?" Ponyboy asked coming up next to me.

"Huh? Oh yeah... I just need fresh air." I said going outside.

I hated the tension in there with a burning passion. I walked outside and I saw Loretta, Alexander, and I'm assuming her husband. "Loretta!" I said waving and walking over to her.

"Hey!" She said happily. "What are you doing here?"

"You need help with anything?" I asked quickly.

"What? Why?" I sighed.

"I just can't stand it in there. The guys, their girls, it's just super awkward and I need an excuse to go home.

"Sorry. I got nothing. Just say you wanna go home."

"I can't..." I said skeptically.

"Come on... just say you have Friday night plans."

"Fine." I walked back inside and I made Loretta come with me. "So thanks for the invite to the beach today. But I'm gonna head home."

"Why?" Darry asked.

"Just- I have plans tonight and I have to get ready." I said.

"[Y/N] has a date!" Ponyboy said teasing me.

"Do not!" I said.

"We're going to the bar downtown." Loretta said speaking up.

"Ooh! Can I come?" Steve asked.

"Excuse me?" Hayley said.

"And Hayley."

"Sure." I said.

"Wait I wanna go!" Ponyboy said.

"Anyone who wants to come can come." I said.

Loretta and I walked outside. "I guess we're going clubbing tonight." She said to her husband. She sounded annoyed.

"That's what you said." I stated quickly.

"It was a lie to get you out of there." She said.

"Oh... I'm sorry. You don't have to go." I said with  a frown. "I guess I didn't get the hint..." I said trailing off.

"Oh come on..." Her husband said. "Just go. It'll be fun."

"I dunno." She drawled.

"I'll watch Alexander tonight. Have fun." He said.
