Your POV

I wanted to talk to Johnny before he left. "Wait!" I called out.

He turned around. "Yeah?"

"So does everyone have a house now?" I asked. That was a dumb question...

He seemed annoyed. "Not everyone can just afford a house. We're working on our own time."

"I-Oh... sorry. I didn't mean to be rude or anything. I was just wondering."

"Well, we don't always just have the time to work incessantly."

"Look, I'm sorry. I just wanted to know." He rolled his eyes.

"I'm gonna take it you don't have a house of your own yet?" I'm getting too curious.

"No I don't. Surprise surprise. Because when you have parents like mine, they find your money and take it."

Oh my God. I totally forgot about his parents. "Bye." He said.

"Wait. Stay here. This is how I can make it up to you!"

"I-"

I cut him off. "I have two spare bedrooms. I didn't look too much into the house so you can just stay here. There's a bed in one of them and you can put your stuff in there." He stared at me blankly. "Actually sorry. I guess that is weird..." I said trailing off.

"No, wait. Are you being serious?"

I thought for a second. "I mean, yeah." I mumbled.

"That would be awesome! Just until I get a house of my own."

That made me feel a bit better. But our conversation was cut off my the phone ringing. "Who would be calling at this time of night?" I asked myself more than Johnny.

It did get me out of an awkward situation though. "Hello?" I asked. "Hey is this [Y/N]?"

My mouth dropped. I totally forgot about Hunter! "Hey! Yeah. I forgot I gave you my number." I said with a laugh. I put the phone down so that Hunter couldn't hear me. "You let me give a random guy my number?" I whispered to Johnny.

He shrugged his shoulders unsure of what to say. "You there?" He asked.

"Oh yeah sorry. You were saying?"

"Wanna get breakfast tomorrow?" I thought for a second.

"Oh. Sure." We made plans for 9:00 AM tomorrow at the diner downtown.

"What did he want?"

"We're getting breakfast tomorrow."

"Why do you seem so disappointed by it?"

"Because I don't wanna go."

"Why did you say yes?"

"I mean, when we were talking I thought this guy was perfect. But now, I don't even know him. He could be a serial killer and I'd never know. So I'm just gonna go and say I don't want a relationship."

"Well why don't you just try it?" Johnny asks.

Because I'm still not over what I did to you.

"Because I just don't think that's how I want to meet my guy. I'll see how he's like further and then I'll go from there."

Just then, Haden came running back into our house. "Hi!" He yelled.

"Go get ready for bed." I said.

"Why." He drawled.

"It's getting late."
