«44 - Minerva's Base»

A starry night. A peaceful, cold night. A fading moon, rises in the distance as the remaining glow of the Sun disappear for the next few hours.

'A paper bag...? What...?'
'So tall...'
'Who's this?'
"Awaaahh..."
'Tiger stripes, how cute!'

That's what everyone was thinking as the mysterious ally stands before us.

Hayato was trying to keep Paper Bag or Zazie, from killing everyone.

Some of them were even hiding behind the trees, not that it'd do any good. That strength...

"So... How's Chris's doing?" I ask Afro, hands in pockets, staring at the kid's pained face, as sorrow alters my expression.

"Better. He's not in the clear, yet, but his pulse and breathing are back to normal. The medicine is working." He replies, a smile forming on his face.

"Phew... you'll be fine, Chris...!" Emma smiles, bending down to comfort the kid.
"Great job, Anna."

Gilda seems happier, knowing that we came back safely with the medicine. It's nice to see her worried disappear, especially when she has to deal with our trio.

I smile at the thought of Gilda not having to worry every day about whether we're alive, or not.

"Well! Now it your turn to take a good rest, (Y/N)! I heard you were thrown around by demons!"
"Yeah, go to sleep!"

Gilda wraps a blanket around my shoulders, pushing  me to go to sleep.

"Oi! Who do you think I am, Emma? I wasn't thrown around by demons, I was about to kill 'em, before Zazie swooped in and kicked me out of the way!" I scold.

Emma begins laughing at the embarrassing sight, before making a decision.

"Everybody, we'll spend the night here. Make sure to get a good rest! Tomorrow, we're leaving at first light." She announces, as I wrap my arms around her neck and slant my face onto her shoulder.
"Emma... It's already day..." I giggle.

Everyone looks to the East and watches as the Sun rises, shocked. It was quite funny, really.

*Two Days Later*

After that day, we took two days to reach the surrounding area, where 'Minerva' is supposed to be, well, at least where the base is supposed to be.

"SOOOOO BIIIIIIG!!"
"I can't believe these trees!"
"It's a forest, but way bigger than all the others we've seen!" Everyone exclaims, chatter building up.

We arrived at a large tree, that if it were compared to a building, it'd be larger than a three story house. Magnificent, truly magnificent.

"Is the hideout in there?" Oliver asks Mask.
"Yes! We've almost arrived!" They both replies, enthusiastically.

This area is far away from demon villages, but... I'm sure it's brimming with Wilds. To think they settled hundreds of kids here...

"The trees all look the same, I can't tell where I'm going!" I hear from in front of me.

"I'll go ahead first, to tell the Boss about you folks!" Hayato waves.

"Jin, Zazie, show the way for our friends and keep 'em safe!"
"Roger." Jin replies.

Hayato readies himself into a running position, smiling cheekily and determined.
