Kaelynn

That was so embarrassing. I can't believe Ayden and his guard saw me like this. I don't want to face any of them again but I don't want to disobey Ayden. He must already hate me after everything I told him.

What I don't understand is why I am not in the dungeons?

Ayden dodged the question earlier, maybe after dinner he will take me back there. I sigh knowing I deserve the dungeons.

"Kaelynn, you in there?" Avery says from outside the door.

"Yes," I whisper on the verge of tears.

Avery always bought out the sensitive side in me; with her I could express all my emotions without judgement. She comes in the room and engulfs me in a hug when she sees my face, which just makes me break down further.

"It's going to be okay, sweetie. Just let it all out."

I let go of her and wipe my tears after that. My life choices were my decision and now instead of crying, I should just accept them.

"Thank you," I say giving her a weak smile.

"Are you feeling okay after everything?"

"I'm fine, honestly. You don't need to worry."

"Are you sure? Last night you almost didn't make it."

"What happened last night?"

"You fainted from the silver in the dungeons and almost lost your wolf! Ayden fed you his blood to revive your wolf."

I look at Avery in shock, did all that really happen? I can't believe Ayden would save my wolf like that. A part of me wishes she died; the other part knows I would be empty without her.

"I bought you some clothes. Figured you wouldn't have any in Ayden's room."

I thank Avery again and take the clothes to change before we go downstairs for dinner. On the way I smell a familiar scent in the air. A smell of the past. I try to place my finger on the scent but my mind is blank. The smell gets stronger and I feel comfort. I take a deep breathe in then freeze at the sight in front of me.

"Uncle," I mutter.

I can't believe who I am seeing in front of me. My father's best friend, Edon. He was like a second father to me growing up. I think back to what I did to Father and immediately look down in shame. Before I have a chance to think further, I see Ayden rushing towards us.

He stands in front of me blocking Edon's view before saying, "Avery, take Kaelynn back to my room."

Avery complies and I follow her. Ayden remains silent as he watches us walk away but I just about catch his next words, 'Stay away from her, I'm warning you.'

Ayden comes to the room shortly with a tray of food and Avery leaves.

"I bought us food. Shall we eat on the balcony?" He asks whilst placing the food on the table outside.

I follow Ayden and we eat in silence. My face turns towards him and I notice how his grey eyes glisten in the moonlight. I curse the moon goddess internally for giving me such an irresistible mate that I am not worthy of.

I can't help but wonder why Ayden is being so nice, shouldn't he be sending me back to the dungeons now? I have healed up so there is no need for me to stay here now.

"What's on your mind?" Ayden asks somehow knowing I needed answers.

"Thank you for saving my life earlier but I-," I hesitate before continuing, "When will I go back to the dungeons?"
