Nadia:

The instant a pair of hands closed around my eyes, I knew it was him.

"Guess who?"

Hearing his voice after days, feeling him this close left behind a feeling of snow dusting in my lower belly.

"I don't know," I grinned, deciding to have a little fun. It did seem to work and he was startled.

"Wait for real?" He asked with a stutter. My smile turned wider as I stood with my hands gripping my locker.

"Do we know each other?" I asked and something told me he definitely rolled his eyes before removing his hands from my face.

Though when I called him that night he said he would come back the next day. He didn't. It took another three days and now he was right in front of me.

"I missed you," I said when I turned around and from the look on his eyes it was pretty clear that he missed me too.

"I missed you too," He said, leaving a soft kiss against my lips. "You're free right?"

We spent the next whole hour talking in the library, of course in a corner far away from the librarian so that she wouldn't kick us out. I was initially more interested in helping him catch up with the classes and especially with the test we had next hour which he obviously had no idea about. But, he was more interested in talking. So that's what we did.

To tell the truth, that was exactly what I wished for but I did want to push it for later to make things easier for him.

Talking to William always made me feel like he wasn't only listening to my words. He was absorbing them. He listened as good as the way he spoke. His eyes resembled a vortex that caught everything I told him. The kind of attention and eye contact he maintained was both comforting but at the same time made me feel timid.

When we got to the next class, which was the only other class we shared for today, he was made to sit far away from me to take the test. He said he's going to successfully fail. The rest of the day was a drag.

Moping around from classroom to classroom with the end goal of seeing William and going out to the diner with him. When I told dad about it, he didn't seem to mind but nonetheless he wished me luck in walking all the way home and said that he'll probably be gone by the time I reach back and will be back on Monday.

"No, I can't do this shit anymore!" He groaned and dropped the pen onto the floor of my bedroom and fell back onto the carpet.

I don't blame him, it was calculus. Me trying to teach him that was something like the tortoise teaching the snail how to run. When we began a mix tape Saul gave me a while ago, played in the background and kept us grounded but about ten minutes in, it stopped working, and along with it our tiny percent of dedication to get this done.

"I'll do it," I sighed and fell to his side, cuddling against his side while his arm wrapped around me. I could hear his heart race against his chest as I placed my head against it.

"Thanks... if I actually had even the slightest idea about how to do it, I wouldn't have let you," His reply made me laugh first and then it made me lean up to kiss his cheek.

"When do you have to leave?" I asked and laid my head back down on his check.

"Nine," He replied as a hand crawled up to the back of my head and started to caress it. I couldn't understand the relief I felt when I realized we had around six hours. Why was I so relieved?

"That late?" I asked excitedly

"Yeah... My dad's gonna be back only by then,"

The few times I had met his dad before he seemed like an average man but by now I had realized he was pretty strict. To the point, sometimes it appeared like William was scared of him. Though he has never said that.
