6. The Test

Nadia:

It has been five whole days since, William kind of asked me out? I am not sure, is that even asking out. He said we can go out.

I mean going out is something even friends do right like I went to park with Saul after we both got bored of sitting in my room, which kinda ended up with William thinking me and Saul are a 'thing'. I didn't tell Saul about it, because then I would have to explain everything including tomorrow's hanging out, which I don't wanna.

As of now myself, Evie, Jane, and Phoebe knew about this and William, of course. The thing is, I suck at social cues and so do my friends which is why they are my friends. When I told Evie about it, she said to her it felt like a date and that she is happy that the chance of me dying alone is now starting to fade. When I asked Jane, she said even she goes out with friends, those cant be called a date unless you use the term, 'date'. And finally, when I asked Phoebe, she said, it sounds like both friends hanging out as well as a date, the more she thinks of it. She felt that maybe he is trying to figure out to make me a friend or much more, but she also feels that though she is happy about it, high school romances suck. I can't blame her past relationship which only lasted for 6 months had to go through 3 patch up's and 4 breakups before it ended for good.

So, I thought of asking the boys but that changed when.....

"Heyy pretty girl. Oh my god, you're so pretty, it's just... Wow. I can't handle the fact that you're so pretty." Tommy said in a very high-pitched voice in the most dramatic way as I closed my locker and started walking trying to ignore his stupidity, as he walked behind me repeating the word,'pretty'.

Three days back, Steven and Tommy got detention for getting into a fight with Roger regarding the party which took place. And apparently, in the detention, William and Jeff were there. Now Tommy says, he heard William tell Jeff, that Nadia is really pretty though Steven didn't hear anything. From that day onwards, Tommy can't stop calling me pretty girl, I don't know if he is trying to make fun of me or William for saying that.

Did he say that? I don't know. But if he did, it definitely made me happy that a guy found me pretty and was telling about it to another guy. Should I trust Tommy? I don't know. This was exactly why I refrained from telling the boys about tomorrow's plan. Plus, I didn't know what was actually tomorrow's plans. I asked William about it and he keeps telling me to be patient, did he even know where we were going? All he said was that he would come to pick me up and I had to tell him where I lived. I didn't tell dad about it, because anyway, he would be gone by the time, plus what should I tell him when I myself didn't know it?

"Tommy!! Stop calling me pretty and can you just tell me are you sure about what you heard?" I asked grabbing his skinny arm.

"I told you before, We were at detention and I heard him tell Jeff, you were really pretty. Ignore Steven, he is in a dream world all the time, he barely hears anything." Tommy said

"Huh?" Steven asked confused coming out of a daze, yeah Tommy is kinda right.

"Are you guys still not done with the whole,'Pretty' thing?" Frankie sighed as we all remained silent, Well fuck it. I am gonna assume he never said that unless he says it to my face.

"Come let's go. We have a test today." I said to Tommy and Frank as we moved to English, where William too was there.

"Okay, Students get settled down. There is a paper on each of your tables. They are all multiple choice with one point for each, mark the answers you feel appropriate. You have 20 minutes, there are 10 questions. Alright, then all the best. You can start.....now." Said Ms. Martin our English teacher looking at her watch.
