24. Birthday

William:

I invited her in and put on a shirt and made her coffee.

Great, the first time she sees me, I look like a hobo.

"So William, do you always stay here?" She asked me as I handed her the cup of coffee.

"Umm yeah, some stuff happened at my home, Mic.. Mr. Deal and Nadia were kind enough to let me stay here, also you can call me Bill." I said

"No, I think I will call you William. You guys go to the same school?" She asked

Are you kidding me? Wow not only did she look like Dee except a bit older, she even thinks like her.

"Yeah, we are together," I answered, I hope she isn't against it like my father. Also, I don't think we have to hide our relationship.

"Oh wow! I think I missed out on a lot. My little girl has grown so much. I haven't seen her in years. What is she like? Does she look like Robert? Does she still play guitar?" She rambled on as her eyes twinkled with excitement just like her daughter's did when she got excited at anything.

"Yes, she is one of the most smartest, sweet, and caring person I ever met. She is very pretty, no she looks a lot more like you which was why when I first saw you I felt like I saw you somewhere before, and a guitar she is really great at it, she even plays bass now." I answered all of her questions calmly.

"I am glad that you think that way about her. She deserves to be happy. You don't know how much I missed her. When do they come back? When can I see her? I can't stay much longer, I have to go somewhere, but I will be here for four days." She said

I think maybe Nadia misunderstood her mom. I know she misses her mother, but it seems like so did her mother, but I think if they talk to each other they can clear out all the confusion and for her birthday..... I think I know what I should gift her for her birthday. I felt satisfied with my idea.

"Oh! They might get a bit late. Why don't you give me your hotel's number or something? I can arrange a meeting between both of you? She will be happy to see you, I know she misses you." I said

After talking a bit more, we decided that, morning 9 am, 18th March, we would meet her at the diner, and with that, I arranged for her birthday gift from me, her mom.

Nadia:

I walked into my room after I finished the homework. I had three tests lined up next week. Just one more year of school. It was pretty late dad and William were already in their rooms.

As I walked towards the bed, I noticed something on the table beside the window, a birthday card. I smiled. He must have left it for me to find, I looked at the clock, it was 12:15.

I opened the card,

I remember when I first saw you, it was the first day of school, I walked out of the coach's room after getting an earful about quitting the track team, that's when I first saw you. I don't know what you thought of me then, but for me, I saw a spark in you, that made me drawn to you. And with that started my lame attempts to make you mine. Though you made me wait a long long while, it was worth it, when you finally told me you loved me I was the happiest person on this planet, the thought of having someone as caring, and smart, and funny and beautiful, the thought of someone like you being able to love someone like me. You are one of the most important people in my life, maybe the most important from the day you stepped into my life. I know they say high school relationships don't last, and that in few years we would not even think about each other, that's not true, that's not us. I want us to last till the end of the time. Because I know you are the perfect match for me. I want you to have faith in us.
