I marched into the police station and slammed my hands down on the table.
"I solved the Saihara Murder case!"
"you have?" the police Chef gasped "Well don't just stand there detective kirigiri tell us what you found!"
"this" I showed the the hair clip.
"that's it?" the police Chef yelled "you came in with so much confidence and all you got is the same clue as before!?"
"yes but with a little twist" I grinned "you see their surviving son shuichi just told me that his mother never wore hair clips. Meaning that this hair clip belongs to the killer"
"that would mean our killers a woman!" one of the policemen gasped.
"Well that certainly narrows things down" the police chef chuckled "theirs only one recorded woman in the saiharas life and its his bitter ex yumi harutoshi"
"excellent. Then let's get down there and-" I was cut off by my phone ringing. It was mokoto.
I picked it up "mokoto can you ring back? I'm a little busy"
"please kyoko it's an emergency" his voice sounded frantic "I just got home from work to find the house all messed up and shuichi missing. I've think he's been taken!"
