He rolled his eyes as he wrapped the badge around half naked villain, who moaned in pain. He should feel bad but really didn't. He was glad the man wasn't dead and that was the extent of his joy. He was annoyed with the aftermath.

Drake thought back to battle. Negaduck whipped the spinning blade around and placed it at the hero's throat. Dark caught the base of the chainsaw and panicked. Thinking back he shouldn't have pushed the weapon like an idiot; he should've kicked it to the side. He could've move backwards but then he risked falling off the roof himself. He remembered not thinking through the action as he slung the blade backwards. The other man screamed as he sliced open his own shoulder. The villain stumbled and tried to attack again but fell to the ground. He was losing blood fast and consciousness faster. Drake panicked and made a snap decision. He drug him back to his lair in the St. Canard bridge.

Now he was on his third roll of blood soaked bandages and he was glaring at the dangerous mallard like he was the one who had been sliced open. Darkwing knew he had only saved the mask tyrant because he didn't want another death on his conscience and not because he was some perfect hero he pretended to be. That didn't stop him from being mad at the man for bleeding out on his good sheets.

The villain was precariously propped on the bed that DW still had in the tower for some reason. Not like he hadn't been living in the house with Gosayln for several years now. Speaking of the spit fire, he was thankful she had spent the night at Honker's house tonight so she wouldn't have to witness him patch up his arch nemesis. She would've wondered why he wasn't at a hospital. Something Dark had asked himself fifty times, when the panic subsided.

Negaduck shot up. The first thing he noticed was Darkwing was incredibly close to him. He didn't even register the pain until after he spoke.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" He had a thing about people being so close to him. Not that he would admit.

"What's it look like?" Darkwing deadpanned. He dapped disinfectant on the bandage and went to wrap it again. Negaduck moved so he couldn't wrap it effectively. Dark sighed and threw the bandage at him. "Fine, then you'll die on your own terms."

The yellow dressed man blinked.

"Don't you think that would be best," he paused before adding, "for the city, I mean."

Not like Negaduck wanted to die or anything he was just curious.

"I won't have your death be on me. The city be damned."

Negaduck blinked. Darkwing was a hundred percent serious, so he moved so Drake could continue wrapping. There was a moment where Nega just watched the hero. He was confused by the anger and hostility at healing him. Well not really. He was the bad guy they weren't supposed to get along but then again he could've left him on that roof. Let faith decide. That's what Negaduck would've done for most people especially those nitwit hero's back in his dimension.

"Sometimes killing is necessary." He admitted the hard truth to the golden hero. Not that he would know. He'd only ever torched; people usually did his killing for him.

"You don't think I know that." Dark snapped not meeting the villain's eyes.

"A goodie-two-shoes like you?" he scoffed. Dark tighten the bandage a little too ruffly and Nega hissed.

"I know more than you think." Dark packed the first aid kit violently. It was a topic the hero didn't like to think about.

"Ya. Like what?"

Drake snapped. He had a rough night and now Negaduck was pressing his buttons. He whipped his arm toward Nega's face. For a second the villain thought the hero was going to slap him. Instead he simply showed him his plam then Dark tugged on his sleeve.

In the pale moon light it was hard to tell but the mallard could make out nine ribbons of distorted feathers. Some were older and some newer. Negaduck knew immediately what it was and what it stood for. His hand flew up to pull it closer to his face. He ran his thumb over the feathers counting each one as not to miss count. Drake watch with head held high. He wasn't going to be ashamed of himself. Not in front of this man.

"Nine?" It was a whisper.

"Eleven." The hero correct and Nega's eye cut towards Dark's, not letting go of the damaged wrist. Something dark entered the good duck's face. "I didn't regret two of them."

He went to lower his hand but Negaduck tighten his grip. Looking over them three seemed worse than the others, like they had been deeper and took longer to heal.

"Tell me," he demanded. For the first time Negaduck watched fear enter Darkwing's face. He had seen many many emotions cross the male's face over years of fighting but never had he see him be genuine scared. He lighten his tone. "Please."

Drake faltered. It sounded like a foreign language for a second. He didn't think Negaduck knew that word let alone how to use it.

"They where mostly people I couldn't save. A woman from a burning building. A man from a collapsed tower. Three children," they both glanced at the three worse scars. He didn't finish that story. "Some of them, though, where in self defense."

Negaduck didn't correct him but Dark knew that's not what he wanted to hear. He took a breath.

"As for the other two. The most recent, well, he threatened Gosayln. That's all it took."

Negaduck watched Drake's eyes. They changed from fury to lackluster.

"The other one?" The counterpart said softly and loosened his grip slightly.

"My first." He sighed. The villain absent mindless rubbed over the marks. Drake didn't know why he felt safe talking about this with Negaduck of all people. He never told anyone. Not even when LP had asked them what the marks where or when Morgana asked if he had kill anyone. He swallowed and looked down. "He hurt me and several others when I was younger. It was an accident. I didn't mean too, I pushed too hard and he hit his head but I would do it again in a heartbeat."

Negaduck grew angry at that. He knew that Darkwing meant by 'hurt'. He had never understood how anyone hurt someone like 'that'. Especially a child. That was a line even he wouldn't cross. Whatever Darkwing had done was letting him off easy in his book.

"Good." Drake looked up at Negaduck, who's face was hard and sincere. He also seemed to be think over something. "Would I have joined them?"

The hero looked clueless at the question so the villain nodded to thin lines. They where almost invisible in the poor light.

"Don't be ridiculous." Negaduck breath caught for a second then Dark added. "You already know the answer to that."

"I don't ask questions I know the answer to." Dark seemed to think it over for a moment. Then gave small nodded and shifted his eyes away. The villain tightened his grip again. "I won't let that happen."

He lowered the hero's wrist forcing him forward. They locked beaks. Drake let himself melt into the kiss. It last a moment or two before the yellow clad duck grunted in pain.

"Sorry," Dark apologized. After all he was the reason for the pain both initially and currently.

"Don't. You never have to apologize to me. Just no more self induced torture. That's my job." Dark scoffed in agreement and Nega pulled the purple dressed duck back into a kiss and the two fell asleep on each other.
