Identity Reveal

Tank banged on the Mallard's door. He had been there for an hour. He was starting to get slightly concerned for the dweeb not that he would admit it. He had seen Honker sneak out and he wanted to get him in trouble. However after an hour Tank abandoned the door and peered in the window. The inside was dark and no one seemed to be home.

'Oh, that dork was so busted,' Tank thought.

Just then the two sofa chairs started spinning. Tank felt his eyes widen. When they stopped spinning his brother and his joke of a best friend was in one seat and in the other was -

"Darkwing Duck?!" Tank jumped back. "No way!"

"Gos! Honker! What have I told you about following me?" Darkwing scowled his younger brother and the redhead.

"Not to." Honker slouched his shoulders.

"We never get to do anything fun," Gos shouted at the hero.

"To your room young lady." The little girl stomped off and Honker followed her. Darkwing sighed. He pulled off his mask and Tank gasped.

"Mr. Mallard?" Tank fell into the bush. He crawled farther back. He sat in shrubs for a minute then caught the front door open to his left. He noticed that Mr. Mallard was wearing his usual pull over now and Tank covered his mouth and scooted father back in the bush.

"Darn kids." Drake slammed the door and walked in.

Tank pulled himself back to his house. He never heard Honker come back home but all he could think about was Mr. Mallard and his secret. Mr. Mallard wasn't cool enough to Darkwing but then again Tank never hung out with him.

The next morning Tank made it to the kitchen table first. That never happened. His parents didn't seem to notice that Honker barely managed to drag himself to his usual seat. That did notice however when the kid passed out into his cereal.

"Honker, honey are you alright?" Binkie asked, trying to take his temperature with the back of her hand.

"He's fine mom. He was up late helping me with homework." Tank lied, pulling his younger brother's head out of the breakfast soup.

"That's my Honker." Their dad clapped 'his Honker' on the back startling the boy awake. Honker ran up to his room to grab his homework so they wouldn't be late.

"Your secrets safe with me, Mr. Mallard." Tank whispered to himself and hurried after his brother.

Tank slowly found himself acting differently. He was nicer to Honker when he was tired. His first reaction wasn't to pummel Mr. Mallard on sight. He was afraid he might try to fight back. Although he didn't change his attitude towards Gosalyn much. Hey! He had to keep up appearances after all.
