2017 Ducktales
Part two of All That Glitters!
Goldie & DellaDonald worked up the nerve. He was going to confront his uncle. He clutched the folder to his chest and knocked on the door.
"Go away," someone that wasn't Scrooge said. It was a woman. Donald stuck his head in.
"Donald, lad come in. Goldie, was just leaving," Scrooge shot her a look.
"Like hell I was. We were mid-discussion, Moneybags."
"No you were mid-conversation. I was pretty clear." She growled. "So what did you need, lad."
"I'll come back."
"No need. She's leaving," Scrooge practically begged.
"Oh then. Here," Donald placed the folder on the desk.
"What is this?" Scrooge blinked taking the shredded thing in his hand.
"The checks." Scrooge gave him a confused look. Goldie stiffened but Donald pressed on. "You know I only cashed two of them in ten years. I wanted to prove I didn't need your help so I wanted to pay you back."
"Lad, I don't know what your talking about?" That was not the reaction Donald excepted.
"But the checks they were," Donald trailed off in thought.
"Were what?" Scrooge pressed, flipping passed the ones Donald had sign to the older ones. They were all from the time when Donald and Scrooge weren't talking.
"From McDuck Enterprises," the boys said together.
"You're just now telling me this." Scrooge's eyes widened and he reached for the phone.
"I thought they were from you." Donald sat in chair, thinking over anyone else that would do such a thing.
"I have to get my whole company shut down in order to find the leak." He started, dailing the number.
"Damn it, Don!" They both jumped because they forgot she was there. Goldie rummage through her bag and dropped a McDuck Enterprise checkbook on Scrooge's desk. "Though it makes since why he didn't know till now."
"You?" Donald asked and Goldie rolled her eyes. She turned to leave. "Why?"
She paused and looked back and locked eyes with Scrooge.
"Della and I had an understanding."
"When was the last time you even spoke to Della?" Scrooge asked. He couldn't believe the con-women actually talked to any of his relatives, well other than Louie.
Since she had returned Della and Goldie hung out a lot - not to the knowledge of her uncle of course. Goldie whipped out her phone and clicked the 2 button. The other person picking up immediately.
"Auntie Goldie!! Are you back in the states?! We need to get together," Della screeched. Scrooge looked at her. The twins, who had called her that since they had know her. Though they didn't call her that in front of Scrooge.
"How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that?" she gritted her teeth.
"I did the thing we," Della had continued not even thinking but then she gasped. "Wait are you okay?"
Goldie blinked. "What? I'm fine."
"You haven't told me not call you that in years. Blink once of you need help. Wait, we're on the phone say something only I would understand if your in danger. I'm pinging your phone." Goldie shook her head at Della's concern.
"Della, she's standing in my office." Goldie tried to stop the faceplammed.
"Oh then we can go now! You owe me - last time you ditched," Della said, hanging up. She busted in the room and pulled Goldie out of the room.
"Maybe this time don't be boring," Goldie mumbled as she was drug out.
"What just happened?" Scrooge asked, as they watched the door swing closed but Donald knew.
"You remember when you told her not to ask Goldie to be their godmother?" Donald asked. Scrooge nodded. "I think she did and she accepted."
Scrooge didn't know giw to feel about that. "I didn't think she was the type."
