A/N: Enjoy Gyro being Asshat!

The suit was in shambles. Literally in smoking melted pieces. They were sprawled all over the table and the floor. I was currently welding two pieces back together, while Fenton was rewiring the helmet.

We had been working on it all night, well
morning. He woke me up at three am and drug me into the lab because this week's weather themed villain had fried the suit with a lighting bolt during the fight. It had taken some serious hedge clippers to get the burned peice off Fenton's body.

The piece of metal I was welding broke and I growled in frustration.

"Be glad you're cute!" I threw one of the chunks at him in frustration. It skitted it to a halt by his feet.

"Thank you, for helping me. I know you're risking Gyro's wrath," he chuckled nervously.

"Only for you precioso." I made a kissy face and he blushed. He was regretting teaching me Spanish. Then I wiped the sweat of my brow looking over the mess. "Fenton, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there's no way are we going to fix it before Gyro gets here."

"I know but we can repair most of it."

"Repair most of what before Gyro gets here? Oh my god! Intern what did you do?!" Gyro's voice rang out behind us.

"Shit." I cursed and scrambled to push some the peice together in attempt to make it look better than it was.

There was no way of telling what time it was in the underwater lab. We had lost track of time so Gyro was reporting for work at eight am like a normal person while we where about to fall asleep on to the equipment.

"Heeeey Gyro!" I stumbled to stand up.

"Don't 'heeeey Gyro' me! Explain!" He crossed his arm, glaring at the hunks of metal everywhere.

"The suit got fr-fried in a fi-fight," Fenton stuttered, not looking at the man.

"More like melted, babe," I corrected, poking at a lump of metal with my foot. I winced because that was the last thing Fenton needed. "Sorry."

"And this is why I wanted ____ to be in charge of the Gizmoduck armor in the first place! They are clearly more responsible than you intern!" Fenton couldn't form a response but I didn't like him being smeared like that.

"Gyro, he did his best. Besides, Fenton has more experience than me! Both in and out of the suit!" I hated this argument and Gyro brought it up all the time just to make Fenton feel bad.

"That still wasn't enough, clearly!" He crossed his arms before marching out. "Just fix it!"

Fenton slowly moved back towards his helmet. Slowly, he closed the control panel and the screen flashed to life.

"Fenton you okay?" He nodded. "You know I don't agree with him, right?"

"I should just quit. He clearly hates me. The lab would be fine. It has you, Manny, and Lil Bulb."

"You did not just compare yourself to Lil' Bulb," I scoffed. He didn't even smile and my face fell. "Sweetheart, this place wouldn't be the same. Who would I make inappropriate comments at? We both know they'd go over Gyro's head and Manny doesn't blush like you do."

That made him smile lightly. Then he shook his head, clicking a few buttons on the helmet. He handed it to me.

"What's this?" I looked at the helmet and it was flashing.

"It's awaiting a new user."

"I'm not even going to consider about this!" I shoved it back at him.

"Nothing to consider about." He hung his head and headed to his office, leaving me stunned.

I was so mad I couldn't speak. Gyro might be our boss but he had no right speaking down to Fenton to the point of this. I slammed the helmet down and started working on the next piece of the Gizmo armor. I couldn't speak to Gyro while I was this mad. I might do some permanent damage. I kept an eye on Fenton to make sure didn't leave but I also knew to give him his space. I don't know how much time passed before Gyro walked back by.

"Where's the intern?"

"I'm right here," I grumbled.

"Not you the other one." He rolled his eyes. I shrugged. "I highly doubt that you don't know."

"Contrary to popular believe we are not glued at the hi,." I spat, putting the finish touches on the wires I was working on.

"He probably wishes you were," Gyro scoffed under his breath. "Why are you cleaning up his mess?"

"I'm done with all my projects at the moment and you told us to clean it up." I put the gauntlet on my arm to see if the functions were stabilized, not really paying him much attention.

"I meant him." He gritted his teeth then looked over how much I had repaired, which was a lot. However I was more focused on physically damage than software. "Though I do like the idea of taking more interest in the suit. Are you going to take your rightful spot now? I had intended it for you to use."

"You mean steal Gizmoduck from Fenton?" I gritted my teeth and glared at him.

"It's not his." Gyro countered, narrowing his eyes. I looked at the metal at my arm and made snap decision.

"Personally I think Fenton is best fit for the suit." I raised the hardware on my wrist so it was pointed at his chest. Gyro's eyes widened and he tried to side step but I followed him with the device. The palm was glowing a brilliant blue and it was buzzing loudly. It was clearly unstable. "I've never seen myself as a hero."

I held it there for a minute before he realized I wasn't lowering it despite the malfunction. The light burned brighter and burned a small spot on his tie. It was burned my hand slightly and got worse the longer I held it but I wasn't going to waver. Not for Fenton. Finally Gyro gulped, understanding what I meant.

"Understood." He nodded and stepped away. I flexed my fingers, killing the power.

"Oh! Gy, just remembered, he's in his office," I hissed. "I think you should apologize."

I took off the gauntlet. I seared some of my feathers off but demeaned them a worthy sacrifice. I continued working until Fenton appeared at my side.

"The weirdest thing just happened." He sounded happy and I hummed not looking up. "Gyro just apologized. I didn't think he knew how to do that."

"Good on him." I smiled into my work. "That mean you're gonna stay?"

"Yeah. I think I might."

"I've got good news too. I'm done." I showed him all the fix parts. "At least cosmetically."

He caught sight of my hand. "____ what happened?"

"I was making sure that the wrist plate was stabilized," he cut me off, nodding have done it before.

"You used too high a frequency but why didn't you get a bandage?" he asked, already pulling out a first aid kit.

I let him take my hand to put some kind of cream on it. He seemed like he was back to normal and I realized I hadn't spoken, "Because you make a cute nurse."

He blushed and mumbled wrapping the bandage around my hand.

"Oh and the gear still needs a pilot if you're not planning on changing careers to become a nurse on me, pollito." I smiled at him.

He blushed like crazy, taking the helmet. I laughed. He definitely deserved to play the hero.
