Gladstone x Darkwing/Drake Mallard

(You can read as newer version but that's not how they're written.)

"And you called me why?" He crossed his arms and looked at Mr. McDuck. He was simply annoyed that Launchpad had woken him up before ten after the night they had last night. "Don't you own Gizmodunce?"

"Yes but ya see he is off stopping a wildfire from ravishing my sheep farms in Australia." He said as if this was a completely normal sentence.

"And the crying woman is?" Drake asked but his eyes had already cut to the dapper dressed man behind Scrooge, who was speaking on the phone. He looked familiar and was too handsome to be working at McDuck Enterprise in Dark's opinion.

"The cleaning lady. She was the first suspect. Granit' we should've been a we' bit easier on the las." Scrooge hummed then turned to the man who was hanging up the phone. Drake couldn't help but admire the green suit the man was wearing. "This is my nephew, Gladstone Gander. He'll be showing you around."

His interest in the goose quickly declined. He knew the rumors, and there were a lot. However he'd be bad at his job if he didn't keep up with the news. That didn't mean Dark bought into those rumors of course but it was pretty hard to ignore the evidence. Even the way he walked reeked of arrogance. Gladstone was currently giving him a run down and he lost himself in thought.

He considered himself lucky but Gladstone was supposed to be unrivaled. DW thought he could give him a run for his money. He could name several battles he should've died but that never seemed to be the case. However, walking a few steps behind the world's greatest lucky charm, he couldn't help but think of his failures and it wasn't helping his mood.

"Are you listening, Mr. Darkwing?" Gladstone said, jabbing the elevator button.

"Not really." He admitted. Annoyance flashed across Gladstone's otherwise bored face. "LP, I mean Launchpad, gave me a run down and the way here. Besides I'm more of a man of actions."

"This isn't fun for me either but Uncle Scrooge put me in charge of making sure you not only aware of the problem but able to fix it." Dark had never been one for holding his tongue so this snarky come back was expected but he still regretted.

"Why don't you just luck your way through it?" Gladstone paused and looked over his shoulder at the mallard. Then he laughed. Darkwing couldn't help thinking that it was a pleasant sound then he cursed himself for thinking that.

"I wasn't aware that you knew about that but we've tried already. My luck doesn't bend to my will, unfortunately." The elevator ding and they stepped on.

"Of course, it doesn't." Darkwing rolled his eyes. He wasn't sure if Gladstone ignored him or hadn't heard him but he didn't care.

The ride was silent. He couldn't help but steal looks at the gander. He was quite handsome and charming, despite the irritation he caused Darkwing. They stepped out of the elevator and walked down the hallway.

"Here is the security office. I'll be in Scrooge's office down the hall if you need anything." He went to leave but paused. Then added bitterly, "Don't need anything."

Dark chuckled humorously and turned towards the video feed. He didn't expect Gladstone to be this big of a pain. He watched the video for a while but didn't see anything suspicious. After several moments of debating he decided he needed to see the case in person.

"Mr. Darkwing, you're in need of assistance already?" Gladstone said smugly as the hero entered the room.

"No. Not from you." He glared at the goose. Then glanced at the open Vault Door.
