Original Darkwing Duck
Darkwing & Gosalyn

Context: Two weeks after the Darkwarrior Duck Episode!

The night wasn't quiet. No, it never was quiet for Drake Mallard. At any time, in any place, something evil could be happening. Like the saying goes, something about crime never sleeping. However, it was more than his usual night patrol that was making Darkwing twist in the depths of his being.

It was now five minutes past curfew! She had promised that she would be there at exactly 7 o'clock. He watched as the minute hand clicked one more black mark, marking another minute late and without a doubt, another day to her current punishment. Did she not think a month was long enough? Drake was starting to wonder if she was a glutton for punishment. He snorted in annoyance.

"Three hours is more than enough time!" Drake stood to visit his age old nemeses, the Muddlefoots.

Gosalyn had asked to go on a science project with Honker for school and she promised she would return before seven.

Drake intended to drag her back home and give her the scolding of her life. He pounded on the door several times. He crossed his arms and tapped one of his feet, looking stern. He groaned when he saw the clueless expression of his neighbor, who opened the door with a smile from ear to ear and a bottle in his hand.

"Drakester! Nice to see you again! Would you like a beer?" The Muddlefoot asked.

"Not now, Herb," Drake replied sharply. "I came here looking for Gosalyn. She was supposed to be back home seven minutes ago."

Mr. Muddlefoot laughed.

"But Drakester! Don't you remember? You came and got her ten minutes ago! Poor girl fell asleep as soon as she jumped in your arms. You were in such a hurry to leave you left her backpack."

Drake's face was pure dismay while, inside, his soul collapsed to his feet, while Mr. Muddlefoot, completely oblivious to the horror of his neighbor, kept talking, showing him the backpack.

"Oh, yes. I was wondering where you got that scary looking black car anyways." DW didn't answer. He snatched Gosalyn's backpack with his face contorted with rage and then ran to his house and slammed the door. "Ah, well. He must be in a hurry."

"Let go of me! Let me go! I had to be home twenty minutes ago!" Gosalyn's eyes darted around, landing on the city's clock tower. She had given up on pulling at the ropes. It was starting to hurt her wrist.

"Ah, why the rush, sweetie? We're just started to have fun!" Negaduck stopped, polishing his chainsaw and crossed the roof towards her.

She had been tightly bound to prevent the energetic little girl from trying to escape and/or kicking her kidnapper. As far as she could tell she was on the bridge where Darkwing's tower was located only a column or two over. Did Negaduck know about the secret hideout so closes to them or was it merely a coincidence? She didn't have any clue. She was just hoping her father would find her soon. Then she remembered.

"It won't be fun for me when he shows up! I can't stand another month being grounded!" She was renewed with energy at the thought and started struggling again. She had to get back home.
