2017 Ducktales (after Della disappeared)

Gender Neutral!ReaderDella had disappeared and I refused to think it broke Scrooge. Nothing could break Scrooge McDuck, so I stood by his side the entire time as he obsessed over finding her. I was so thankful I didn't have Bradford's job. I don't know how he managed to make Scrooge stop looking for her, but I expected Scrooge to act out. To retaliate or something. But he didn't. He didn't do anything.
Afterwards, Scrooge went right back to his life like nothing happened. Which included me pretending Donald's dramtic exit at the beginning of his obsession hadn't torn me apart. Scrooge pretended we didn't eat dinner with two empty seats. Scrooge even acted like the McDuck Enterprises' stocks hadn't dropped dramatically in the last several months.
That's where I came in. I made all foreign clients come to him or take video conferences because Scrooge refused to travel by airplane or boat. I was only slightly grateful for that bit. Both were painful reminders of the twins. Finally, though, I had enough.
"Scrooge, shouldn't we talk about this?" I confronted him as I sat down a fresh pot of tea on his desk.
"What is there to talk about?" He didn't look up from his work.
"The fact you haven't left your desk in days or the fact you've lost weight or the weather or anything?" He huffed in respond. I gritted my teeth. "Please, I know you are upset."
"Why would I be upset?" he snapped, looking up with bloodshot eyes. "Everything is in order, for the first time in years."
"I'm just trying to help." I took a step back. He was scaring me.
"Help with what? Nothing's wrong. I'm even ahead of schedule." He turned back to his papers, double checking his calculations.
"I loved her too!" I snapped at him. He stood abruptly scrapping his chair on the hardwood.
"You had no right to love her!" My eyes started watering, but I would not let him see me cry, certainly not after that.
"Donald was right, this was a waste of time." I turned to leave, and he caught my arm.
"You talked to that layabout!" He was red in the face. I had messed up by bringing Donald into this, but I was too mad to care.
"Yeah, you know why? Because he actually talked to me unlike you." I snatched my arm away. "And don't call him that."
"I'll call my nephew whatever I damn please!" I had never heard him cursed before, not even when twins drained one of his bank accounts on a trip to Japan. He raised a hand to his face. I couldn't stop a flinch. He paused and narrowed his eyes. "You think I'd hit ya, las?"
"I don't know what you'd do. You need rest and some time to yourself," I marched out of the room.
"____!" he called.
I didn't turn around. I made my way to my room and started packing. I had taken one of the guest room for myself years ago even though I mainly spent the nights in Scrooge's room. I picked up a book. One that I had told Della I wanted to read. I was doing lots of things told her I wanted to do. It was kind of like I was keeping promises to her. I didn't know how Scrooge was handling it. Well that was a lie, he wasn't handling it. I don't know how long I was there before I was interrupted.
"____," Scrooge walked in, without knocking.
"Seriously?" I asked, and he didn't look up from his handful of papers.
"I was thinking. What if we extended the operation in the southeastern sea? I was thinking of starting with," I zipped my bag excessively loud, making him look up, "and we can- are you leaving?"
