Sanem and Ayhan load up the car with Ayhan's bags. Emir is helping the girls with the bags and has told Sanem a spot where they can meet up with Osman. She called and gave him information the night before.
The girls get in their car and follow Emir as he leads the way to Izmir. It is not as happy a trip for the girls, both knowing they will miss the other and Ayhan afraid to leave Sanem alone. Sanem will miss her friend but she is so afraid that Ayhan will not be able to keep her secret. She has been thinking about it all night and has decided she will need to tell the girl a little white lie.
"Ayhan, I am not going back to Kas."
"What?" she says.
"Last night when I was talking to Emir, he told me about a publishing company in a nearby city. I am going to move there, he has a cousin there that I can stay with until I can find a job and get my own place."
"Where are you going to?"
"I am not going to tell you, that way you won't have to lie to anyone about where I am. When we get back I am going to pack my bags and Emir is going to take me to the bus station in a nearby town and then I will leave."
"Aren't you afraid?"
"No, I am kind of excited. This might be my chance to publish my book. And Emir says his cousin will look after me. She lost her husband not long ago and my company will be good for her."
Sanem was not lying about Emir's cousin but she was lying about moving to the new city. She would stay in Kas but she couldn't take the chance that Ayhan wouldn't give in to Can and tell them where they had been.
Ayhan only shakes her head and turns to look out the window. They are getting close to the area where they are to meet Osman and Muzzo.
When Emir pulls over the girls follow suit and park behind him. Osman and Muzzo are already there and standing outside their car. Ayhan runs over and hugs Osman and soon Sanem joins them also.
Muzzo has many questions about where they have been and when Sanem will be home. No one gives him answers. He tells her, she can marry him and then Can will no longer be able to bother her. She laughs, "I am not going to marry you."
They introduce Emir to Osman and Muzzo. Emir asks if they would like to drink some tea before they all leave.
"Where are you going now, Sanem?" ask Muzzo
"I am going to pack and then Emir is going to take me to the bus station and I am going to meet with a publishing company." Emir knew that Sanem was going to tell this little lie, she had finally confessed everything that had happened one night to him and his wife, so he wasn't surprised when she told this story to her friends.
"But, that doesn't tell me where you are going?"
"I am not going to tell you that, I don't want anyone to know."
"She will be fine, she is going to stay with my cousin in her home." Emir states.
"You know Can will go off the deep end when Ayhan comes back and still no one knows where you are." Muzzo said.
"I can't worry about Can right now. I text him and told him I was fine and would call when I was ready to talk to him. He will need to understand unless he doesn't want me to never speak to him again."
They finish their tea, Muzzo drives off and the girls hug each other then Osman hugs Sanem and shakes Emir's hand.
"Thank you for watching over my sisters."
"It has been my pleasure." They all get back in their cars and pull off. Sanem ask Emir to drive around in case Muzzo tries to follow them. When they are sure that no one is following them they head back to Kas.
"So you have finished your book?" he ask.
"Almost, just need to finish the last chapter and write the dedication then I will be done."
"Do you believe in fate?"
"Evet."
"I do also. I believe fate brought you to my little tow and us together. Did I ever tell you what my son does for a living?"
"No, I don't believe you did."
"Well, he works in a publishing house as an editor. He reads books by new writers and decides if his company should meet the author and publish their book." he continues " He is coming home next week for a visit. I shall introduce you to him. I have been telling him about you and Ayhan and he wants to meet you also."
Sanem's eyes widen. She is speechless. Emir gives her a big smile "How is that for fate?"
She smiles back, yes, how is that for fate?
