Can's POV

I am watching Sanem walk away, Polen is saying something about Sanem's cream. I haven't heard a word she said. I look at her and then back at Sanem, who has stopped as if to listen to what Polen is saying.

"What did you say?"

Polen sighs "She is right, you don't hear her, you don't listen. You talk and berate but you don't listen. What are you afraid of hearing Can?"

"What do you mean, I listen!"

"No, you don't! She wasn't able to get a word in because of you yelling at her. You asked her questions and didn't even let her answer. I don't know why I care that you don't listen to her." she stops and sighs "But, what I don't understand is this cream that you think is so special, it's really just common, everyday cream. There is nothing special about it. My perfume smells better then this stuff."

What does she mean nothing special!  I grab her arm and sniff where she has rubbed the cream. "This isn't Sanem's cream! She must have gave you one of her other scents"

"Yes, it is, I have watched her in the agency take this very jar out of her bag and rub cream on her wrist. This is the scent that you are so head over heels in love with."

I grab the jar and smell, it smells like what I remember but on Polen it doesn't smell good.

"I don't understand how this smells so bad on you."

"Gee, thanks." She sighs again "I know Sanem has told you this, I have heard her. But,  I will tell you again. The chemistry of my body is different from her body chemistry so the cream smells different on me. It will smell different on Leyla, Huma, Deren, whoever wears it. No one, not one single person will have the same scent as Sanem."

My eyes widen as I realize what Polen is saying, I remember Sanem trying to tell me this before when Fabri had first been after her creams. I take off walking toward the front of the hut, I must get to her before she leaves. As soon as I turn the corner I can see the taxi pulling away. I can tell by how she is sitting that she is crying.

What have I done? She is right I don't listen, I yell and scream and place blame and leave. I have never stopped to listen to her words when I am angry. I am a fool.

I walk back to the hut, pull out my phone and tell Polen I am calling her a taxi.  When the taxi arrives I walk her out and open the door for her to get in.

She hands me the jar of Sanem's cream. "I would tell you I need your answer tomorrow, but I know you aren't leaving. "

"No, Polen, I am not leaving, I am not ready to leave Istanbul."

"Really, Can? At least be honest with yourself. It has nothing to do with leaving Istanbul but everything to do with leaving Sanem." she states firmly "You love her yet you treat her worse than you have ever treated me.  Wake up Can, before it is too late."  She slams the door and tells the driver to go.

I pull my phone out and try to call Sanem, she doesn't answer, I try again and it goes to voice mail. She has turned her phone off. I could try to call Leyla but knowing Sanem she has gone to Ayhan instead of home.

I decide to calm down, I  will see her tomorrow at the agency. If she doesn't come in, I will call her then. If I have to I will go to her house and beg her to forgive me.
