"Mirhiban, is that really you?"

"Evet."

"Oh, allah, I tried so hard to find you."

"Well, I didn't want to be found. I needed time and space away."

"Where are you? I want to see you, talk to you."

"Visiting a friend."

"Please, can we meet and talk?"

"Aziz, I am not sure I am ready for that."

"It has been 28 years and you are still not ready to see or talk to me."

"Let's see, is Huma still in your life? I don't need any of her drama in my life."

"I understand, but even though she isn't part of my life, Huma is definetly causing drama again.

"It took me a long time to get over what Huma did to me, to us.  I am not sure I want to go throught that again."

"Believe me, I thought she was out of our lives but again she wants to destroy not only my life but my sons."

"There is something I need to tell you. I met a young woman recently and we became friends, she is the reason I am calling you today. She said I needed to talk to you about what happened."

"Sounds like a wise young lady."

"Evet, she is. She knows about the drama others can cause.  I met her when I went to a book reading. We talked for quite a while and then met for  lunch several times and became friends."

"I am happy she convinced you to call me."

"Well, it seems like she and I have a lot more in common than just enjoying books." she said, then waited a few seconds "It seems we have Huma in common."

"What? Who?" he stumbled over his words "Are you talking about Sanem Aydin?"

"Evet." she smiled as though she could see the look on his face. "We have sat many nights, over a glass or well, over a bottle of wine, and talked about the men we loved and lost."

"Mirhiban, I know that I handled things wrong with Huma but."

"No, buts, Aziz." she interrupted him "Huma is an evil woman and from what I hear she hasn't changed a lot. I am not sure meeting up with you would help my mental health."

"Please, Huma cannot hurt us anymore."

"Are you sure about that because I believe she can and would. Just look at the faces of your sons and tell me I am wrong."

Both were silent and the she spoke again "I need to go, but I will call you again, when I am ready to talk."

Aziz looked up as Can and Emre walked back through the door.

"Any time, any place, what ever you want."

"Good bye, Aziz." she said and hung up.

Oh, Allah, what just hearing his voice was doing to her. Was she ready to be attacked by Huma again, ready to give up the peace of mind she finally had. She still loved him but like Sanem, it had taken a long time for her to become mentally healthy and she would have to think about it long and hard.

" Baba, are you ok?" asked Emre "You look like you seen a ghost?"

"More like I spoke to a ghost." he answered. "Just a dear friend that I haven't talked to in a long time."

The two younger men looked at each and then watched their father as he sat deep in thought. In the meantime, Can placed a call to Metin about the car parked outside as Emre explained to Aziz what was going on. Metin told Can he would call his friend and have it checked out discretely.
