Hearing my words

Chapter 44

Sanem felt as if she was on fire, she kept trying to kick off the blanket but she couldn't get her legs to move, when she finally woke up fully, she felt arms holding her in place. She looked up to see Can sleeping beside her, his arms and legs wrapped around her. No wonder she was so hot, his body heat was suffocating.

She tried to lay still, knowing he needed the rest but she felt him stir beside her, when she looked again he was watching her with a smile on his face.

"Gunaydin"

"Gunaydin, Babek. I must have fallen asleep."

"I can see that" she answered. "Thank you for keeping my nightmares away." she smiled at him shyly.

"Anytime, I want you to always feel safe." he kissed her cheek "I don't want to but I have to get up and get ready to go to work."

" I will fix us breakfast and then you can start your day. I hope all goes well today." she had a frown on her face, he took her chin in his hand lifted her eyes to his.

"Please. don't worry, everything will work out. They don't have a clue that we know about Fabri so that is to our advantage." he kissed her and then walked to the other bedroom to get ready. Sanem dressed quickly and then went to make breakfast, she started the tea, she knew Can would want and then prepared his favorites. He was surprised when he walked out, she had a feast set at the table. 

"I learned how to cook from reading Polen's book"  Can threw his head back and laughed.

"That is so fitting, she would have a cow if she knew." Sanem smiled at him and sat down to eat. "Sanem, I am not going to come to the farm for a few days, I want to make sure that no one finds out about your home. I will stay with Baba, since he is staying with Emre."

"That will probably be for the best." she looked sad "Huma is still keeping us apart and she doesn't even know it."

"Please. know that if you need me I will come, we can still talk. I know this will be hard since we are trying to work things out but they will do anything to try and get what they want." 

After Can left she quickly cleaned the kitchen and went to work on her creams. 

Can did not tell Sanem but he drove carefully to the coast area of the property and went out the back road that way he was sure no one would see him leave the farm. It was rough to drive over the land that had no roadway but he made it safely to the road.

When he arrived at the agency, there was a commotion in the lobby, he looked to see that Aslan was attempting to keep Huma from walking up to the agency.

"Huma!" Can said loudly. "What do you think you are doing here? I told you not to return."

"I want to talk to you. I swear I knew nothing about Aylin coming to that meeting." she said.

"Aslan, if she doesn't leave please call the police." He walked off and took the steps up to his office. Huma screaming at him to stop until she could no longer see him, then she started yelling at poor Aslan.  He calmly asked the receptionist to phone the police.

As soon as he stepped into his office, he text Metin to see what was going on with Fabri and Aylin. Metin text that he was on his way to the agency. CeyCey arrive with tea for Can and sit down, much to Can's surprise.

"What is it CeyCey?"

"Can Bey, I want to help, if you need me to do anything please ask me."

"For now, just keep your eyes and ears open, you seem to have a way of getting information without anyone detecting you are there so that is what I need from you."

CeyCey stood and said he be happy to do this for him and left the office as Metin was walking in.

"What is going on, Metin?' he asked "How can these people be running around Istanbul free as birds."

"Well, at least one of them is back in jail." Can's eyes lit up with the news. "Aylin was arrested for breaking her agreement, she thought the document we had her sign was just words on paper but once she entered the city and then the agency we had her. I called a friend of mine, who is a detective on the force and told him what was going on. They arrested her last night. I just need you or Aziz to press charges today and she will not be able to leave jail until her hearing and since she broke the contract she signed with you, she can now be charged with corporate espionage, fruad, and blackmail."

"Wow, Thank you Metin for being on my side. Baba should be here soon and we will head to the police station. Now, what about Fabri?"

"We can't do anything unless he makes a move toward the agency, since you don't want to show your hand just yet, he will have to attempt to enter the agency or approach you, Emre or one of your staff before we can do anything. He's a smart man but his quest for revenge may cause him to make an error. I am just glad that Sanem is not in town."

Can looked out the window and Metin could see that he was hiding something.

"Have you talked to her lately?"

"Evet, we talk or text just about everyday."

"When is she coming home?"

"I don't think she will ever return to the mahalla except to visit her parents or friends." There! He hadn't lied, she would not move back to the mahalla but he had to keep her secret for a little longer.

"I was hoping she would come home now that the two of you are talking."

"Well, I have to prove she can trust me and I have to believe that she won't leave me again for that to happen."

"I read her book, she was put through so much, so many people used her kindness."

"Evet! I read it also and I agree, maybe if I had listened instead of blaming she would be here now."

"All I can say is maybe her not being here is for the best, at least, Fabri cannot get to her."

Metin stood to leave "If anything else happens let me know immediately."

Can told him he would call if needed and sat back down to try and do some work. He was happy that he didn't for to worry about Aylin, at least, for the moment. As soon as his Baba arrived they would head to the police station.
