Chapter 40

The next morning Can was up early, he had went for a run and was now in the shower, he was thinking how everything had changed so suddenly. If Huma only knew, that if not for her trying to interfere with agency business, he would not be with Sanem now.

He had to make sure that no one would follow him to the farm, he wasn't going to stay here every night but if it was ok he would come on weekends. He had met the others last night when they returned from the movies. He was so appreciative that they would share their haven with him, he promised them all, he would make sure their identity and whereabouts would stay  anonymous and their safety intact.

He got to the agency before anyone else, not even CeyCey was there, he looked around at all his father had built and he knew that whatever it took he would make sure that no one did any damage to the agency or his father's character. 

 He made some tea and walked into his office, then placed a call to the security office and  asked Aslan to come up to his office. When the man arrived, Can motioned him in and told him to take a seat. 

"The three woman that were escorted out of the office, I want it understood that not one of them are allowed past reception. That includes Huma, she will threaten you, your job, tell you she is mine and Emre's anne but that does not change a thing. She is not allowed upstairs at all."

"I understand Can Bey."

"As a matter of fact, the other woman, Aylin, if she comes back into the building, you are to detain her and then call the police. Let me know and I will call our attorney. How she is back in Istanbul I do not know, but I am sure she is up to no good and I know Huma isn't."

"Yes, sir."

"One more thing, do we have cameras in the garage area?"

"No sir, the cameras are only here in the agency office area. There are three in the reception area also, one at the front door, one at the desk and one on the stairway leading up to the offices."

"Anladim, understood. I am going to ask that you see that cameras are placed in all areas of the garage, the entrances to the garage and also all the stairwells that lead into the office, just on our floor, we will not invade the privacy of the other companies in the building. But, make sure the recordings from all cameras are backed up everyday, if someone tries to erase the video I want to make sure that we have a copy."

"Yes, sir." he paused "I don't want to overstep but it might be a good idea if I place a man in the reception area for a few days."

"You are right, great idea. Please go ahead and put your man in place." Can was impressed with the young man "Aslan."

"Yes, Can Bey"

"Just Can, please. If you have any more ideas please come to me, I want to make sure my staff, all my staff including your men, feel safe and secure when in the office and walking to their cars. Also, if anyone would like an escort, please make sure someone is available."

"Yes, sir and thank you." he stood to leave then stopped "If it is ok I will place tracers on the cameras in case someone attempts to tamper with them."

"What do you mean?"

"Let me explain it this way, a friend of mine works in another agency and someone kept hacking into their camera feeds and computers so they put a tracer on all of their equipment and if someone tried to hack in they could trace the origin."

"I understand now. Thank you for the suggestion and I agree, this is a good idea also."

"If that is all Can Bey, I will get started." He turned and walked out of Can's office.

Can shook his head as Aslan left his office, he was sure it would be a while before the young man would be comfortable calling him Can. He picked up his phone and text Sanem letting her know he would be staying at his father's house tonight. She said she would ask him to say hello to Aziz Bey but it might not be a good idea.

Can then placed another call to the HR department requesting the pay scale for the security team, when all his questions where answered he asked that each person on the team was given a 2000 lira raise and for Aslan to have a 4000 lira raise and he wanted the raise to begin immediately with this pay period. 

He was smiling when the door opened and Deren and CeyCey walked in. 

"I see that you have placed a guard in the lobby area."

"Actually it was Aslan's idea and I think it is a good one. I want you to have a meeting with the staff and let them know that a guard will be available to walk them to their cars, if they want. There will also be cameras in the garage area as well as the stairwells leading to our office."

"I agree, after the other day, a few of the employees are very nervous. What time will Aziz be in town?"

Can watched as CeyCey looked everywhere but at him, wondering why the man was still so nervous around him.  "Emre is picking him up at noon and then they are coming to the agency. CeyCey can you freshen my tea, please." 

Can's office phone rang and he picked it up, holding his hand up for Deren to remain in the office.

"Can Divit"

"Can Bey, this is Marifetli Teken, I was hoping that we could meet sometime this week, I have met with my board since our meeting yesterday and told them what took place. They want me to see if there is any way possible you would be willing to work with us."

"Well, I would have to get with the shareholders here and see how they feel. I certainly do not hold it against you that Huma used her friendship with your Anne to attempt to gain access to the agency. I will call after I speak to everyone."

"Thank you, I will wait to hear from you."

CeyCey was walking back in with a cup of tea when he overheard Can speaking with Ms. Teken, he dropped the cup of tea and ran from the room. Can looked at Deren, she just shrugged her shoulders and left his office.
