Hearing my words

Chapter 66

Three very handsome and happy young men walked out of the Istanbul police station, waiting for them was a fourth young man, who also smiled very brightly.

"I thought I played my part very well" said Akif, as the other three walked toward him.

"Evet, well, played. I thought Huma was going to swollen her teeth when you walked in." laughed Emre.

"Let's go have tea or maybe something stronger to celebrate." said Akif.

"I have a few ends to tie up, text me where you are and I will join you soon." answered Metin, who walked back into the police station.

The others got in Can's truck and headed to a local restaurant.

"Where are we going?" asked Emre.

"Panorama Cilhannuma" answered Can "I text Deren that the agency is closed today, everyday has the day off with pay. She, Leyla, and CeyCey will join us."

"Only those three?" asked Emre

"No, Sanem and Mirhiban are already there, along with Baba. Akif call your wife and have her join us."

When they arrived everyone except for Metin was there, who soon arrived and they ordered food and cocktails. Everyone enjoying the fact that they no longer had to worry about Fabri and Aylin.

Though Metin still had a look of concern on his face "Metin, what is going on? What are you still worried about?" asked Can

"Not worried, there were some additional charges that were made after you left." he paused "It seems both Fabri and Aylin had guns. Fabri's car was examined and they found rope, tape and a hood.  There were also drugs in his car."

Can sat straight up in his chair and looked over at Sanem "What kind of drugs?"

"There was a small bottle of Chloroform and also GHB."

"He was going to kidnap someone."

"Evet, but also GHB, is the date rape drug. Not sure why he had that but my thoughts are not good."

Metin went silent again and Can knew he was leaving something out.

"What else?" he asked. "What are you not telling me?"

"He had directions to a town called Kas. I believe this might have been the town where Sanem was living. There were multiple text from a private investigator regarding Sanem. Fabri was having her followed the whole time she was doing her book tour."

"Oh, Allah. He was going to take her and we would have never know." At that moment,  Sanem looked over at Can and knew in her heart that something wasn't  right. She leaned across the table and grabbed his hand.

"Can, are you ok?" he merely shook his head no.

"We need to talk later, when we are alone. I don't want the others to know just yet." She shook her head ok and went back to talking to Leyla but still kept a watchful eye on Can, whatever he needed to tell her was bad.

"Additional charges have been placed on both. Fabri will never get out of jail, at least, not unless he dies." Metin looked at his friend "Can, he will serve his term in Italy first and then be returned to Istanbul for the sentencing here."

"How many years will they all get?"

"Huma will not get many, I would say less than fifteen years and if she cooperates and gives evidence against the others, probably only five years with probation maybe two." he stopped "Aylin was already to be sentenced to twenty  years, with these other charges, she will not get probation so additional twenty. She will be in prison for forty years."

"What about Fabri? I want him to riot in that place."

"He was sentenced to thirty five years in Italy, and had been given ten years at his first trail in Istanbul. With the additional charges, he will not be given parole or early release. Depending on this second trail here, he is looking at a life sentence." Metin paused "The evidence of a planned kidnapping is what will give him his life sentence."

"How did they both get out on bail?" Can asked.

"Aylin, was waiting on sentencing from the courts, so since she wasn't a threat, she was allowed bail until that day. Fabri had already been sentenced but was waiting for extradition back to Italy, it was assumed he was no flight risk, so bail was given."  He stopped and took a deep breath "Huma, posted bail for both. Apparently, they both convinced her that they could make sure that you and Sanem would never be together again."

"How could that be? Fabri." Can stopped "Fabri was planning on escaping and taking Sanem with him."

"Evet, there is evidence to prove that is exactly what he was going to do. He had a new identity, passport and an off shore account with more money than will ever be needed in one lifetime." Metin answered "I have asked that if Huma is given early release then it will be with the condition that she leave Turkey, never to be allowed in the country again."

Can nodded his head

 "Come on, let's celebrate our victory and worry about the other later" Said Metin, but he knew his friend well enough that Can would be thinking about their conversation for quite a while.
