It seems like this rocky terrain stretches on forever. Everywhere I look, it's the same sight. No sign of water, no sign of life. I'm tempted to head back and get executed. It'd be much faster than dying out here. But I'm not the type to give up that easily.

A few hours have past, or so I think from the height of the sun. I eventually see a town in the distance. A Fire Nation town! I grin and stagger towards it eagerly, praying that my legs will carry my weight to it.

Not only am I excited to find a place with food and water that I don't have to ration, I haven't been home since I was twelve. Being 16 now, the place seems almost foreign. Even though the Fire Nation can be cruel and I don't exactly agree with their monarchy, it sure feels good to be back.

Will anyone remember me? I think. The thought makes me sick to my stomach. They'll be asking questions. Oh, they even might know I'm the avatar! Of course, my face has matured quite a bit since then, but you can never be too sure. I never forget a face. Usually...

This might not even be my hometown. I don't know for sure. I reassure myself.

Just a few more steps. Surely these people will help me. I can barely stand on my two feet from exhaustion. The second I enter the town, I collapse face first into the ground.

"Food," I croak, my voice muffled. I feel like I'm as stiff as a twig, my body too achey to move a thing.
