SNUP!
All of the emotions inside of Rose were just too much. Her brain couldn't handle it. It couldn't fight off the serum anymore.
The purple specks in her eye grew until her iris lost all of its amber. She stared at the unconscious boy with an icy gaze. They release him from the chains after 5 more lashes, leaving him slumped on the ground. Rose stands up, ignoring the pain in her back.
"The raid meeting will occur in the morning. I'm guessing you'll cooperate now, seeing what resisting does to you and your friend," The Firelord says to Rose.
She just gives a curt nod, not exactly understanding what he's saying. All she knows is that it was an order, therefore something she must obey.
The door closes to her room after she's escorted, leaving her alone for the night.
SNAP!
A small gasp escapes my lips. What the hell happened? I don't remember walking to my room, and I know I wasn't knocked out. But of course, it was what I like to call "a flare."
I crawl up into a ball and sink into the velvety red covers of my bed. I rub the silky sheets in between my fingers, finding it slightly soothing. But I don't cry. I've gotten used to all the devastation of this place. The hollow emptiness consumes me, leaving nothing left of my old self. That I remember of my old self, anyway.
