"What's so funny?" I growl angrily.

"You're just a girl. Give it up. If you lay a finger on me, the boy gets it," says the leader. He's young. About Nathan's age. And handsome. But of course, his sucky personality ruins it all.

Just as he says that, Nathan tackles him. But something strange happens. All the others back away and watch with smirks. I don't like it, and I'm about to grab Nathan and get out of here. But it's too late.

Nathan let's out a surprised, yet pained yell. He goes completely stiff, his muscles fidgeting. My eyes widen and I cry out.

"Stop! You're hurting him!" I yell, tears filling my eyes as I look into Nathan's. His reflect pure anguish.

"It's called blood bending. Now be a good girl, and I'll let him go," explains the bounty hunter.

"No. I said, LET. HIM. GO," I retort.

He sighs and shakes his head, wearing a mocking smile. Nathan is forced to walk, his hands in his pocket. He's right next to me, nose to nose if I were a bit taller.

"Rose... Get... Back..." He croaks. It seems to take a lot of effort. He swings a fist uncontrollably. My cheek swells up. I wasn't expecting that.

For a second, I'm furious at Nathan. Ugh. I'm an idiot. I think. I glare at the bounty hunter, who claims to be called Evan.

"Aww, what's wrong? Why won't you fight back?" He laughs.

I'm dodging Nathan's sloppy kicks and swings. I'm becoming tired after a while, but am determined to not hurt him.

"Sorry!" Nathan shouts.

I sigh and smirk a little. Evan is enjoying himself, barely paying attention to my moves. I bend a large gust of air, knocking him into the wall. Nathan is freed, but doesn't look so good. I go under him and support him with my arms and back before he collapses.

"You're... Heavy," I mutter. I don't have enough time to carry him out.

"This isn't fun anymore," grumbles Evan, taking control of us both. Our arms and heads twist in unnatural ways for a moment, and every thing goes dark.
