I'm shoved into the throne room, guards surrounding me. I'm only in a strait jacket, but feel just as helpless.

The Firelord sits in his red, massive, dramatic looking throne. I'm on my knees from stumbling. I glare at him with a look of anger and some of fear. Even now I'm truly terrified of my father.

He has a malicious smile on his face as he studies me over quietly. I don't say a word.

"You look just like your mother," he murmurs. I spit on his shoes, my eyes blazing like the fire that pulses through my veins.

He just laughs, and I almost flinch. I was expecting some kind of swing or something.

"And you have my temper," he chuckles.

"I'm nothing like you," I growl. It makes me sick that I'm closely related to this guy. No wonder I have so many enemies.

"Don't worry, we'll get rid of your stubborn personality shortly. This time, I'll make sure you won't be able to escape," he replies.

"Wh- what does that mean?!" I attempt to sound defiant, but the tremble in my voice is inevitable.

He doesn't answer. I'm dragged away into what I think is a lab. I yell and struggle as they strap me to the table, but become hysterical when they pull out the needles.

"NATHAN!" His name instinctively escapes my lips. He's the only person that has one out of their way to protect me. That's cared about me enough. But he doesn't come. Tubes are connected to various parts of my body. My blood pounds in my ears.

"What's happening?!" I stammer, struggling against the straps. The scientists ignore me. I watch as thick, bright red liquid slowly travels through the tubes. I cringe imagining go through my veins, but when it does, I'm unable to contain my screams of agony. The pain is so intense and doesn't lessen for what seems like hours.

When I finally black out, I don't feel unconscious. I'm surrounded by blank white space. I put my hand in front of my face to make sure that I didn't go blind. What happened? Where am I?

Just as I think that, a figure appears. It's a black outline of a person, and has a nightmarish grin on his face. I stumble back, terrified.

"Who are you?!" I splutter.

"Some call me 'The Truth,'" he replies.

"I don't understand. For a second I was being tortured by scientists, and now I'm stuck on some kind of oblivion," I murmur.

A gate appears behind me, and I jump, startled. The stone doors have disturbing designs and carvings in them.

"You can either return to reality, or first go to through The Gate of Truths," says the figure.

Gate of Truths? Sounds pretty good to me. I knock on the gate, and it slowly opens. My mouth gapes when a bunch of shadowy hands wrap around me. I scream, struggling. This is a nightmare! The figure just grins and watches. I'm dragged into the darkness, and images flood into streams around me. It's like having all the information of the world poured into your brain at once.

"Stop! It's too much! Too much..." I sob, holding my head. When it finally stops, I have a piercing headache. New images flood around me. My memories. I smile a little. Most of then consist of Nathan, probably because he's had the biggest impact on my life, but they begin to fade. I strain, but become confused.

What was I just thinking about?

At some point, I can't remember Nathan's name. I can't remember my name. I can't remember anything. But then the worst happened. My personality began to fade. It was replaced by something else I couldn't decipher. Like my mind had a brain of it's own. I had no control. I couldn't remember anything. Not even who I am.
