The push me along like a mule in chains. I can't take my eyes off the destruction. Flames lap at the surrounding house, nibbling them little by little until there's nothing there. The moon shines silvery above, only highlighting the destruction.
The soldiers around me do silly victory dances as they walk. But they shouldn't be standing victorious This was no battle.
This, this was murder.
And it was all my fault.
I fall to my knees. I was slowly loosing control.
Why are you trying to be obedient again?
For Rose, Nathan.
I need to get out of here. And take Rose with me.
Why? What's the poin-
Shut up.
I grip everyone around me. All the soldiers stop their marching and attacking and burning. Calmly, I get a soldier to open my chains. And then Rose goes berserk.
A tornado of wind scoops her up, enveloping her in a balloon of air that whisks Rose up slowly into a hovering position. As she turns around, her eyes flash with a radiant violet lights. As she clenches her hands, shadows crawl in all directions. I watch, horrified as a string of darkness wraps itself around a nearby soldier's neck. It viscously tenses like a snake, it's prey's face goes limp, and the shadow slithers away.
Rose...
I push through the crowd of victims, all falling to their knees, the face of death mirroring in their eyes. Some of them have their throats slashed brutally open. Everywhere I look though, are spurting fountains of red. Further back in the line, soldiers step back. But it's not just the soldiers.
On the side of the road lays the body of a little girl. Her hands, clutching a hairbrush are limp and lifess, her eyes a creamy, milky white.
Rose...
I push on through the crowd, all the way until I can feel the wind of Rose's cage whipping me over, and I fight against it with my life.
"ROSE!" I scream. "IT'S ME, IT'S NATHAN. YOU CAN GET OUT OF THIS, I'LL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU, I CARE FOR YOU WITH MY ENTIRE HEART. PLEASE ROSE, COME OUT!"
