You slowly open your eyes and find you are half hanging out of the bed with you arm dangling and your foot on to the floor as you are face down in your pillow. It's wet with drool.
Ewww.
You peel your face from your pillow and lift your body up. You are tangled in your sheets. No sign of clem.
Must be late in the day.
You get up and slip your shoes on. You hear a breathing behind you.
You: hello?
It goes silent.
You: ummmmm. Max was that you?
Max: get out of this room. Now.
You open the door and step outside into the corridor shutting the door behind you.
You: why did I have to leave?
Max: something weird is going on. I can feel it.
You shrug him off.
You walk through the corridor to the end and you step out into the bright outdoors.
You squint a bit at the very bright sun. Still cold out but no clouds so it's looking like you've missed your chance for more snow. At least for this year.
You are still sleepy but you can actually function as a human and you aren't as slow as a walker.
Max: hey. I know what you're thinking. I'm not slow.
You smirk at the fact he knows your thoughts.
Erin: look who decided to join us?
Finley: welcome to the land of the living.
You: I will go back to bed if you don't pack it in.
Finley: come on it's just a joke.
You hug him.
Finley: woah hey.
You let go.
You: thanks for you know... looking out for me. Both of you.
Finley: hey you would do the same for me.
Erin: where is my hug?
You: fine.
You hug her.
You: as nice as this little hug fest is I'm going to go and find clem.
They smile and walk off. You spot her sat underneath the "flag" and you start walking over. She spots you.
Clem: look. You aren't dead.
She says laughing.
You: I've already heard two of these jokes. Don't over use it.
Clem: no the joke was I didn't have to shoot you.
She says placing one hand on her hip and raises one eyebrow.
You: oh.
Clem: and now it's not as funny because I had to explain it.
