Chapter 95 - cold night

You lay staring at the ceiling as clem has her legs and arms wrapped around you. You just can't seem to get to sleep. You hear scout whining at you from the corner.

You: you too?

You whisper.

He gets up and you hear the pat of his claws on the wooden floor. You reach your hand out and scout sniffs it and licks your fingers before you decide to try and get up.

You slowly slide out of the grasp of clem and get up. As she rolls over you tense up hoping she hasn't woken up but she falls still again.

You: slick escape.

You put your hand into a fist and point it at scout as if to fiat bump him and he boops his snout into your hand. You get dressed, grab your guitar and step outside. You look outside to see it's pitch black until you notice a orange light.

You step outside too hear the snow crunch under your shoes. You see willy, tenn, jack and AJ all sat around a small fire. You listen to willy telling them ghost stories. You decide to mess with them for being up.

You grab some rocks.

They finish the story and you begin throwing rocks behind them to make noise. They all's seem to panic a bit but after a while they brush it off as the wind.

You begin running around so you are just out of view but loud enough so they can hear your footsteps.

The begin to really panic which makes it 10 times better.

Jack: ok everyone put your back to each other.

They form a circle looking out.

You: scout go over there and growl.

He does as he's told.

The boys instantly break formation.

You sneak up behind them and grab hold of jack. The boys scream slightly.

You: shush you'll wake people up.

Jack: why did you scare us.

You: because you are up. Now I let you off last time but go to bed now. You too willy. I'm waking you all up as soon as I wake up which is going to be early. You are all going to do you chores as well as clems because she's been stressed lately.

AJ: please.

You: if I think you've done a good this will stay between us and I'll forget all about it. And clem will be happy with you for helping out.

Willy: come on.

You: go to bed now.

Jack: what are you doing up?

You: my own thing. Now go.

They all walk inside and you and scout walk out of the gate.

You: them lads man.

Scout whines at you.

You: let's walk and see where we end up.

You take a few steps forward before scout start tugging on your sleeve trying to lead you somewhere.

You decide to follow him and he is walking quickly.

After a small walk you enter an opening. You recognise it instantly as it was the key place in the worst day of your life.

The boulder where you attacked clem. A rooting bear lays dead. You notice a walker feasting on its guts. You draw your knife. As you step closer it doesn't seem to notice you so you kill it easily and drag it away. You see the bite marks that you took out of the bear way back when. Just a few more maggots.
