You've been walking for and hour since... arvo.
The others are lagging behind and Lewis carries jack. You think they are scared of you.
Everyone has been silent the entire time. You can't believe you had to leave Anna like that back there.
There was so much adrenaline pumping through your body at the time. Now you are just exhausted and full of regret.
Jack: daddy?
This word breaks your heart as you keep on walking. You say the next sentence without turning.
You: I'm not your daddy buddy. I'm not good enough for that job.
Lewis: yes you are.
You: well I'm not am I. A left him in a burning building.
Lewis: you didn't know.
You: I left him in the middle of a firefight.
Lewis: you where protecting clementine.
Clem: what?
Lewis: when he got you out of the fire there was a firefight with no cover so he curled you up and blocked you with his body.
Clem: awwwwww.
You: I am not a good carer or person. Hell I just murdered someone in front of him.
There is a long pause as you keep walking.
Lewis: I would have killed him too.
You: are you sure about that?
Lewis: I told you what I did to the guy that killed Emily.
Clem: if I could get my hands on the walker that bit lee I'd kill it or in your position I probably would have killed arvo. Maybe not in the same way...
You: wish I'd just shot him.
You all walk in silence for about 10 minutes. Over the top of the trees you spot a large cloud of dust. You hear a group of distant groans.
Your eyes turn a dark green for worry as you turn and look at clementine. She has a worried expression on her face as you.
You: it can't be.
Clem: can it?
Lewis: what?
You: a horde.
Lewis: fuck.
AJ: swear.
Lewis: these two get to say it.
You: we say it in the right time.
Clem: or with a good excuse.
Lewis: and a horde isn't a good excuse.
You: a horde that might not be a horde.
You leave the tree line to a grassy hill that dips down to a river and on the other side is a hill that connects the rest of the forest.
A river you can hardly see because of the shear amount of walkers.
