Chapter 71 - sniper

You all stand within the tree line of the forest so you aren't in view. You twist your silencer onto your rifle. You whistle and draw scout over. He seems on edge.

Clem: so just so everyone knows ruby is going for the horses with scout. You need to scare them so they run off. Willy is going for the supplies. Me, Louis, jack and AJ are sneaking in planting the bomb and freeing violet and the others. Y/N stays here and supplies cover fire if they need it. Only if they need it.

You: I know Clem.

Clem: so James will be here any minute with the walkers. We need to sneak through it.

You all stand awkwardly. You unclip your magazine and see 15 shots left.

That should be enough. You spot a few walkers walking round.

You: I think he's here.

You wait a bit longer and the numbers are increasing greatly. You spot one getting close but soon realise it's james.

James: I really hope this is worth it.

Clem: it is. All get into position.

You, Clem the kids and Louis sneak down the hill and Clem takes down one of the walkers and she drags it over to you.

Clem: who's turn is it this time?

You: you did it last time so it's my turn.

Louis: your turn to do what?

You: this.

You drop down and run your knife from the base of the ribs to the top of the pelvic bone of the walker. You grab both sides of the cut and push them apart.

You and clem begin smearing yourselves in it and the boys reluctantly join in. Louis stands there in shock.

You: come on dude it's this or you die.

Louis drops down and begins smearing himself. You do the boys back and Clem does yours. You then do Clem's.

Clem does louis' back as he shivers.

Louis: walker guts. The hardest stain to wash out. How does this help?

Clem: if you move slowly and stay quiet the walkers can't tell the difference between you and one of them. This is how people get through hordes.

Louis: sounds great.

He says sarcastically.

Clem walks over to you.

You: did you enjoy our last night in this world?

Clem: don't jynx it.

You: I know I was joking.

Clem: but to answer your question yes I enjoyed it.

She kisses you.

Clem: stay safe out here.

You: you're the one we need to worry about. You're sneaking in there.

Clem: doesn't mean I can't worry about you.

You hear a howl and a few of the horses begin panicking they start running away and the raiders all begin running to help.

You: I need to get into position. Have fun.

Clem: I'll try. Love you.

You: love you too.

You run back up to the tree line and lay on your stomach and look through your sight. Clem and the others begin moving up as the huge spotlight on the ship darts around pointing at walkers. Each time the light lines up with a walker a bullet flies through its head.
