Chapter 72 - picking up the pieces

Sorry for the really late chapter I was very busy and then I was spending time with my mates and coming home really late so I had no time to write.

Clementine's view

You feel yourself becoming conscious as you open your eyes and realise you're on a burning ship.

Clem: AJ!!! Jack!!!

AJ: Clem!

Clem: where is jack?!

AJ: I don't know but he's not on the ship I saw him get thrown off. So did
Y/N!

Clem: shit... wait there I'm coming!

You begin making your way across the boat when another explosion goes off knocking you against the rails.

You look down and see the multitude of walkers below in the waters. You make your way across the rails, when the boat moves and your hat falls off. You try to catch it but miss. You see it float away into the river as you watch in sadness. You hear AJ yell and you start moving again.

You reach him as the boat begins exploding more and more. You look around and see a small boat.

Clem: there we can lower ourselves with that.

You make your way to it and realise you need to jump.

Clem: I'll go first to see if it's safe.

AJ: ok.

You jump over and as you get onto the boat it begins dropping and suddenly stops. It seems to be stable again.

Clem: AJ your going to have to jump.

AJ looks scared.

Clem: it's alright. I'll catch you. You can trust me.

AJ looks at you and seems to be psyching himself up.

Clem: on 3. 3, 2, 1!

He jumps and you grab him. You both stand on the boat. You see a small overhang on the peer that you can jump on.

Clem: AJ you need to jump over there. You go first. I'm right behind you.

AJ jumps over and lands on it. The rope keeping the boat up snaps and you dangle from it.

AJ: come on Clem! Just jump across.

You regain your footing. You feel the boat shifting and you jump across as it falls into the river. You pant and calm your nerves. You both drop down onto the peer.

Raider: you! You did this! You killed everyone!

You hide behind a crate as he fires arrows at you and you see them stick in the peer. He keeps approaching. You quickly grab an arrow and stab it through his foot. He yells out. You wrestle for the bow and kick him into the river.

You see a large group of walkers getting close and you draw the bow and begin picking them off.

AJ: Clem! This way.

You run with AJ down the peer as the ship keeps exploding.

You spot lily on a raft drifting down the river.

Clem: LILY!!!

Lily turns around and looks at you both. You draw your bow and point it at her. You get ready to release it but your body won't let you.

AJ: kill her Clem! She killed James.

You sigh.
