Chapter 19 - heading out

You and clem both wake up at the same time as clem attempts to get out of the bed without waking you but fails horribly making you both laugh for ages at something that wasn't even that funny. I guess you where both just on one of those moods. You both begin to pack up your things which didn't take long. To be honest it took about 30 seconds.

Clem: that sort of puts things into prospective.

You: what?

Clem: the fact that it took use about a second to pack up after like a week and a half stay.

You: well we are moving a lot so you have to travel light. We have one set of clothes. We have 5 weapons between us. The axe, my knife, your knife, your screwdriver and you glock. We have 1 can of beans for an emergency and my water bottles. There is one personal belonging each and that's Lee's watch and I have the man who saved me's dog tags. For Christ sake you didn't even have any underwear when I met you.

She blushes as you say this making you laugh at the fact she is bothered about what you think.

You: what does it show. We know how to survive on the bare minimum. And with two kids that is incredibly more difficult.

You look at the two of them as they sleep. They got to bed pretty late. You know this because of their awful attempts at whispering.

Clem: yeah they are difficult. But I wouldn't give them up for anything in this world. 

You: same. We should get some breakfast for us all. It's going to be a long walk and we need the energy.

Clem: we should tell javi and Kate the plan.

You: yeah.

You both exit the building and walk to the food hall and spot javi and Kate having a chat.

Kate: all I'm saying is there could be more problems. Gabe hasn't woken up yet and I don't know how he will react with them.

You can over hear them talking as you and clem get your food. Clem leans into and whisper into your ear.

Clem: should we keep listening.

You: maybe

Javi: well we can't just kick them out. After all she has done for us and it wasn't his fault. He apologised for it. I would be going back on my word.

Kate: I'm not saying that. I just don't want more drama in the group so we need to talk to them about what they want to do.

A bowl of soup is placed on your tray as clem gets the same. A slice of bread is served with it. One of the people on diner duty gives you and clem an extra portion of bread.

Lady: for your kids

She winks at you and gives you a smile as you thank her and give her a smile.

You break into javi and Kate's conversation.

You: hi guys

Kate: hi Y/N. is the shoulder feeling better.

You: yes thank you. Gabe alright. I don't like him but I am responsible for his condition right now.

Javi: he hasn't woken up since the punch.

You: oh... shit. I'm sorry guys

Javi: it's ok you did what you had to.

There is a silence. You are getting sick of these awkward moments happening to you.

Clem: so me, Y/N and Anna have been talking and we think it's best if we move on from here. We don't want to start anymore arguments and we need to catch up with the rest of our group.
