Chapter 6 - loss

You had begun to learn about the people you are with.

There is Joe who is strong, tall and is the leader of the rest acting like a big brother towards everyone.

There is Alex who is loud and a little dumb but he is easy to get along with and always wants do keep moral up by playing card, darts or a good story.

Tom is very funny and is Joe's right hand man and tends to be impatient and makes rash decision.

There is Anna who is the camp cook and always has a smile on her face.

There is jade who is quite but is very handy in a fight weather it's agains walkers or human. Melee or by firearm.
She will keep you safe no matter what.

And finally, there's Ashley who is currently pregnant and is expecting any time soon. All the more reason to get to Wellington.

We all barrel in to a military car that has scratches, dents and bullet holes on it.

You hit the road and the longer you drive the colder it becomes as you head to Wellington

As you arrive the woman at the front gate ask who you are and after a small chat they let you in.

Apparently we aren't staying because there is no more space and food to go around. You just hope clem got the last one so she is safe at least.

You walk over to Anna "where can I ask if clementine is here"

"Just go over to the bosses office. You see that big red cargo container with stairs leading up to it. Just up there." She says as she holds onto you shoulder and points at the container.

This annoys you as she is treating you like a child but also makes you feel warm inside. It reminds you of your mother.

As you climb up what feel like the 5000 steps and walk in the man screams at you saying "no we don't have any more food and no you can't change your sleeping arrangements!"

"I'm actually here for something else"

"Oh sorry, what is it my boy" he now seems a lot more chipper and is happy to have some use.

"I just came in with alpha squad and was wonder if there is a girl called clementine, same age and a little shorter then me."

"No sorry son but if she turns ups up I'll contact you on your little walkie-talkie. Let me just sync them up for ya,"

You go and meet up with rest of them and Anna looks at you with hope.

You say defeatedly "she's not hear" you fight back the tears as Anna hugs you.

"She was the closest thing I had to family you know,"

"Shhh shhhh. It's ok Y/N" she says stocking your hair. All you want to do is cry into her shoulder but fight back the tears.

"Why are you all in the hospital"

"Ashley has gone into labor,"

You all sit in the waiting room waiting for the news. You use the hunting knife to crave something into the bottom of the handle on you axe. Fashioning a little wolf into the bottom you had also made a holster out of an old belt so it sticks through the buckle. You still can't use it because it's too big and heavy but you can carry it. Jade looks over your shoulder as you work. You guess to take her mind off of the birth and what could go wrong. After you've finished you see everybody is watching you.

Joe speaks up saying "very good I say we all carve one into it if you don't mind.

"Ok but nothing girly please,"

After everyone is done 5 circles run up the back of it with yours on the right side of the axe at the bottom.

Tom carved a axe into it and around the out side of the circle it said axeception. you chuckle at his very bad joke.
Jade carved a bullet in
Anna carved a little stick man in a top hat making you all laugh.

After another hour of waiting the doctor came out with a little baby boy.

He announced "Ashley sadly passed away in labor"

Joe barges his way out of the hospital and heads to the bar. He was swiftly followed by Alex and Tom. Anna sat down and began to sob. Jade just stood in horror and whispered "not another one"

You where left alone stood in front of the little boy and pick him up. He reaches for your face and you cradle him as he cuddles up to your warm body.

What do we do now?
