Chapter 80 - somethings off

Clem's POV

You all walk through the forest after scout who looks exhausted. But there is something else. He looks scared and shaken.

Clem: scout?

He looks back at you. There is something in his eye. Fear.

Violet: what is it?

Clem: nothing just checking on him.

Scout has his head down and is limping on three legs. He's too big to carry.

You spot Louis walking behind you and you slow down so you walk next to him.

Clem: Louis listen. I'm sorry. I knew you meant well and I was just looking for something to take my frustration out on. I'm sorry and I hope you can forgive me.

Louis pauses for a while.

Louis: don't sweat it.

He smiles at you.

Louis: now don't apologise yet though because you can get annoyed with me if you want for this but...

He pulls something out his back pocket and loads a clip into it. He places it in your hand. You look at the 9 millimetres in your hands. You look at him.

Louis: just incase you have to use it...

You look down at it. You rack the slide and place it down the back of your jeans.

Clem: I appreciate the gesture...

Louis: god I hope you don't have to use it. I just thought if it came down to it you should be the one to do it so you can say your goodbyes.

Clem: I hope he's ok.

You see everyone has noticed Louis passing you the gun.

Violet: Louis...

Louis: what? she thanked me.

Jack: what? Your going to shoot Y/N?!

Clem: I don't want to sweetie I've just got it incase he has... so I can say my goodbyes.

You feel a tear go down your cheek and you whip it off with your sleeve.

AJ: that's messed up.

Ruby: AJ, Y/N wouldn't want to be like that.

Jack storms ahead and walks next to scout.

Violet: jack-

Clem: let him be. He just needs a minute. We might not even need to do it so can we stop talking about it.

Scout begins picking up the pace and disappears as he goes round a corner.

You all stand for a moment. Scout pops out and barks. You all jog towards him and take the left and as you walk along you come to an opening with a boulder sat in the middle.

Jack: there is the bear I killed...

Clem: oh.

You all walk into the opening. You spot a foot sticking out from the other side of the boulder.

You run towards it.

Y/N!!!

He's got his eyes closed. You kneel down next to him.

Clem: Y/N. it's me Clementine. It's ok we've come to save you.

Everyone walks over and looks at him. He begins coming to. His eyes open to show his dead, grey eyes.
