Unexpected

Boards

Meredith and the other residents were now ready to take their boards. Meredith looked really pale, she didn't know if she was going to be able to last through the boards. "Ok Doctor Grey, we are now ready to ask the first question are you ready" asked one of the instructors. "Yeah" Meredith said quietly. All the questions that Meredith was getting asked were not hard at all. Next thing you know round 1 of the boards were done. Only 2 more left. Meredith made her way out of the room because they had a 15 minute breaks. "Mer" Cristina said as she saw Meredith running to the bathroom. Cristina followed her. When Cristina got in the bathroom with Mer, she was of course getting sick again. "Meredith something is wrong with you" Cristina said quietly. "No it just all the tequila from last night I swear" Meredith replied. Next thing you knew the residents were back taking round 2 of their boards. This round was easier then the last round. She thinks she got most of them right. "Ok last question of this round" the instructor said. The instructor asked the question. "Well first I would order a head ct, then-." Meredith replied. "Doctor Grey are you ok" they asked. "Uhm I'm just not feeling to well." Meredith said as she grabbed the trash can and puked. "Doctor Grey should we reschedule this?" The instructor asked. "No I'm ok"she said. They eventually finished that round as Meredith went and sat in the hallway crying. "Mer, what's wrong" Alex said. "I just feel like crap. And Derek isn't here to make me feel better. I shouldn't be here". Meredith said as she cried. "Mer it's ok I got you." Alex said as he rubbed her back. "This is the last round. Only 45 minutes then we will leave to go home." Alex said. "Ok breaks over" the instructor said. Meredith walked back to her room and took the last round. After that round was over she ran straight to her room and packed all her stuff up. She then decided to call Derek. "Hey Mer what's up?" He asked "Uhm nothing I just wanted to tell you that I just finished the boards" she said in a sad voice. "Oh ok, why do you sound sad?" He asked her. "I haven't told you this but ever since yesterday morning I have been sick. When we got her I puked until like 10 am and since I woke up today I have been puking. I don't know what is wrong with me. I feel like I'm dying" Mer said as she cried. "Oh why didn't you tell me" he asked. "I didn't want you to try and make me come home. I needed to take this test" She answered. "Oh. I wouldn't of made you come home. I would of made sure you were ok." Derek said. "Ok" Mer said as she cried. "Hey don't cry. You'll be home soon and then I will make sure your ok." Derek said. "Ok, I love you bye Der." Meredith said quietly. "I love you too as bye" he answered as he hung up.
