Unexpected

The night

Meredith arrived home for the night. She was off tomorrow so she didn't need to go to bed early. Derek wouldn't be home for another hour so she decided to go shopping. She needed food and other stuff. She got in the car and left her house. 10 minutes later she arrived at the store. She walked in and walked straight to the food aisles. She picked up noodles to make spaghetti, and some soup. She was about to walk over to get some chips that she knows Derek likes as she saw some Mnms. She knew she shouldn't buy them but she was craving chocolate so she picked out 2 packs of them. She then grabbed Dereks chips then payed and left. As she was in the car waiting at a red light she placed her hand on her stomach. It felt pretty comfortable, it was hard to believe that there is a baby in there. She arrived home, brought the groceries inside and then decided to take a shower. She walked in the bathroom and started the shower. She got undressed then looked at herself in the mirror. It was still hard for her to believe that there was a baby in her stomach. "We'll take care of you, don't leave us" Meredith said as she held her stomach. She got in the shower and stood against the back wall. She eventually slid down the wall to where she was sitting on the shower floor. She started to cry because she was thinking about how she has the best husband and will soon have a baby. It was the hormones she hated the hormones. A couple minutes later the shower door opened. "Meredith what's wrong" Derek said as he saw Meredith sitting on the shower floor crying. "Nothing, I'm just hormonal" Meredith replied as she laughed. She stood up and looked in Dereks nice eyes. "Can I join you?" Derek asked. "Yes" Meredith said grinning. Derek got undressed and got in the shower with Mer. Derek grabbed Merediths face as he pulled her in for a kiss. The kiss lasted forever. When Derek pulled away Meredith was upset. Thanks to the hormones. "Why did you stop" she asked looking sad. "We need to get out and get dinner" he said as he ran his fingers through her hair. "Ok" Meredith said as they got out of the shower. "What do you want for dinner?" Derek asked. "Soup" Meredith said as she got dressed. "Alright" Derek said as he went downstairs to make the soup. Meredith went and laid down in their bed. 10 minutes passed and the soup was finally done. Derek brought the soup up to Meredith. "Here you go. Make sure to eat it, here's a water also" Derek said with his Mcdreamy smile. "I will" Meredith said as she smiled back. Meredith ate all the soup and drank her water. Derek came up and grabbed her empty bowl. "Derek" Meredith said as he was about to go downstairs. "What" he answered. "Hurry up I want to fall asleep in your arms" Meredith said looking at him. "Ok I'll be right back" Derek said. Derek ran downstairs to put the bowl in the sink then he ran back upstairs. He went in their room and turned the lights off. Derek laid right next to Meredith as she moved her head on his chest. He grabbed her and held her. "Derek" Meredith said quietly. "Yes Mer" Derek asked. "We are having a baby" Meredith said as she smiled. "We are" Derek said as he ran his hands through her hair and held her close. Next thing you know they were both asleep.

Meredith was about to get in the shower, she took her clothes off and then looked down at her thighs. Blood. Blood. Blood. Blood was running down her thighs as she felt a sharp pain in her stomach that she hasn't felt in a while. Derek walked in as Meredith was looking down. "Meredith" Derek said as he ran to her. "I- uh- am having a miscarriage" Meredith said as she sobbed into her husband.

Meredith woke up in a panic. She got up and was walking towards the bathroom when Derek woke up. "Meredith what's wrong" Derek asked. "I had a dream that I was having a miscarriage." She said as she ran into the bathroom and shut the door as she fell to the ground crying. Derek opened the door and sat by her. "It's just a dream, it's ok" Derek said as he stroked her face. "I know" Meredith said as she caught her breath. "It's ok, let's go back in bed, I'll make sure your safe". Derek said as the laid back down. This time Derek held her even tighter as they drifted back to sleep.
